  • Tour de France 2011

[smiley=evil.gif]Very much looking forward to the Tour, I was wondering how everyone else that watches the tour deals with 21 late nights :-? (actually think it should be 22 nights).

I find myself needing extra coffee at work (extra sleep would probably be more sensible).

    Re: Tour de France 2011

I watched it like a fury for the last two years, and would last until about 10km to go, then fall asleep. Even when they moved into a more forgiving time zone, 10km to go.. zzzzzzzzz. Annoyed the hell out of me.

But Im looking forward to this one starting.

I hate that >, or just before anything interesting happens, zzzzzz, only to be woken up by Phil Liggetts voice excitedly announcing the latest race changing upset of the day.

Oh well that’s what time-shift is for.

I was off work with a broken leg one year when TDF was on. Great timing on my part. Stay up all night and sleep by day - though the odd medical appointment got in the way. ;D

                  Lets hope so

BMC are supposed to have built their team around Cadel this year, give him all the support needed to maximise his chances? again, lets hope so.

Robbie McEwen is out, Matt Goss is in, the wheel goes around.

The reality is that you need a good team, be a good time trialist and a great climber. I really cant see anyone challenging Schleck or Contadore because they are so superior on the big climbs where the tour is won and lost.

it is true that a bad day in the mountains can cost minutes.

A bad day in the mountains is when you drop off the back of the autobus (a group of riders at the back travelling just ahead of elimination) .

Doesnt help if one or many have a crash either

Or if your chain falls off and Alberto Contador takes off like a scalded cat.
