I'm having trouble viewing some thumbnails.
Some, when clicked result in a greyed out screen and I have to refresh the page to continue using the site.
Dragging into iPhoto leaves me with just the thumbnail.
Any ideas on what is happening?

It sounds like you may not be allowing enough time for the picture to download. When you click on a thumbnail you will get a grey screen while the picture is being uploaded to you. Once the file finishes uploading to you it is then displayed. Some pictures are larger than others (Some can be very large!) and hence will take longer to download. This will be especially noticeable on slower connections.Originally posted by chokkidog View PostI'm having trouble viewing some thumbnails.

Hi Java 'love ya style' phile,
Thanks for your response. Been trying to download an image this evening but it's been over an hour now for no result. That window is still open so I'll see what happens while I sleep!
I'm having no end of trouble with my ISP at the moment, as are others in my area. Speed isn't the issue (it's always been dead in the water) but drop rate is huge. The (Optus) engineers have apparently tweaked the tower (dial-up accessed via wireless) and haven't improved the drop out rate but I have been able to (mostly) download complete pages when I can get a connection.
Yesterday when I clicked on a thumbnail a new window opened immediately (no grey overlay) and the image downloaded, took a few minutes (time for another coffee) but it downloaded.
I don't believe it's got anything to do with the new software I just thought this thread appropriate for the question and as there are plenty of people on slow dial-up connections I was wondering if anyone else was having the same experience. If I'm on my Pat Malone I have more ammo to fire at Optus (my only other choice is the same service level from Telstra and to get an NBN satellite one has to jump through hoops).
Well, there we go, connection dropped out again. Still no image and I'll post when I can reconnect.
An hour later, almost 1 in the morning, still no joy. Maybe I'll dream about jumping through hoops...........

Cheers Andy.
It's been a bad, bad day................ I had a connection for about an hour this afternoon but was busy with some other stuff which is starting to seriously bank up.
The image is one of 'Bennetts'' pics of the Yemen BI roast he did recently. Thats in the 'Cup Tasting Room' : YBI thread started by yourself Andy.
'Bennett' posted his images in another thread a day or two before and it was one of those that I was able to view.
When I clicked on the same image in the later thread is when I had trouble. I haven't tried any other pics but I might go into hardware for sale where there are plenty of images and see what happens.
I intend to mount a concerted campaign against Optus next week.
So far they are just telling me to wait until an engineers' report has been submitted, but I'm done waiting.
Blast! There it goes again! On, off, on, off. I'm just trying to open another window to find the thread with the first images............ carrier pigeons would be better than this.
Here we go.... I was able to open the image when it appeared in 'Seeking better results for poor Yemen' but I can't open it now.
Good thing Mum said "Don't hold your breath" !!!! 8-)

The image is 800 pixels by 600 pixels (184kb)
Pretty small by today's standards and it should appear within seconds.
I suspect there is something else going on.
This are the direct links to the images.
