  • Who will win the race? Coffee drinkers make their choice.

Who will win? Not the Melbourne Cup but the USA election.

For the third presidential election in a row, people are voting with their coffee cups.

Coffee drinkers have polled the US President Election by choosing coloured paper coffee cups for their chosen candidate when getting their brew from 7-11.

Obama is ahead nationally by a wide 60-40 margin.

Obama wins by landslide in 7-Eleven coffee cup survey - Life Inc.

    Whacky!
So can we determine that Obama voters are far less discerning and will drink any swill in a cup, even 7-11 coffee?

I would be more interested in who refuses to drink 7-11 coffee and who they are voting for.

I haven't been game to try 7-11 coffee.

At their local shop here they sell freshly ground coffees at $1 a cup. I expect it is from a superauto machine. It must be suitable for Democrats. Liked more in the US by Demos than Repubs.

Surely Barrack O'Bamawagon's Kenyan heritage would make him a shoe-in for a coffee-based award.

Off topic (in the off topic area but)...
I tried a 7/11 coffee one day. Superauto but a pointy-end one that did a pretty good job of grind and pour. The coffee was pretty nasty as a shot (and over roasted) but with enough sugar and milk some people could see value at $1.

Surely Barrack O'Bamawagon's Kenyan heritage would make him a shoe-in for a coffee-based award.
...and he had some Indo heritage too... I can see a Barrack Blend unfolding here.

It's interesting how accurate they've been in the past elections, especially when they don't have stores in almost a third of the states.

              If they were beans...
Barack Obama Longbean - a quality budget blend of lightly roasted Kenyan and American beans with some length on the palate. Favoured for short or long blacks and also good for a variety of whites. A popular bean in the past that most feel has not yet reached its use-by date, and depending on grind could still hold some surprises.
Mitt Romney Premium Beans - Only available as a green bean at the moment. A single-origin bean although claiming some Mexican influences. A rich flavour with the subtle aroma of greenbacks lingering in the background. Has attracted considerable praise from supporters who prefer a homegrown product that is a bit different in character.

Oh and that other race...you know the one. Well I thought of having a flutter on 'Ethiopia'. Not just a nod to my favourite coffee region; there was some form that saw some racing pundits rate it as a chance to make a place.

Well it turned out that it came stone motherless last. Literally walked across the finish line I heard. So I saved $10 on an each-way bet. Then I drew "Green Moon" in the $5 office sweep. Damn, again I'm saddled <ahem> with a glue factory candidate. Until ....

I thought of a flutter on 'Ethiopia' as well, glad I didn't............ turned out to be a quaker. 8-(

And on the other race....... the 7/11 coffee cup poll cracked a mention on ABC news breakfast this morning, cracked them up once or twice and had them rolling with laughter....bean counters the new pollsters?
Election campaigns are just so much chaff! 8-0

It is amazing. The US Presidential Electoral College voters must drink a lot of coffee at 7-11, as they returned Obama with a 60 to 40% vote, the same as the 7-11 coffee cup polling.

I didn’t win or lose anything on the cup as I had no bets.

...or a lot of 7-11 patrons who support Republicans are colour-blind and can't read .
