Seeing as how you mentioned a couple of TV series in your original post, I will mention a couple that I would like to see returned.

Game Set and Match. BBC production of the first set of Len Deighton's best selling trilogy.

The Edge of Darkness. Another BBC production that won a number of awards upon release.

Good to see TV programmers viewing our thread and taking heed. Midnight Express was on last week.

    Can they do likewise for
    The Great White Hope
    La Dolce Vita
    The Sea of Grass
    2001: A Space Odyssey
Mrs Miniver (I have never seen it)
    Soylent Green
The Wreck of the Mary Deare

I don't watch tv. Haven't done so in over a year. In fact, the tele is on the opposite side of the room to the tv output. Not much value to the conversation, but all light hearted in the end.

An impressive list Robusto. Has Reservoir Dogs ever been shown on FTA?
    Some others:
    Ghandi
    Taxi Driver
    Dr. Strangelove
    A Tale of Two Cities
    The Searchers
    Strangers on a Train
    The Grapes of Wrath
    The Razor's Edge
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951 version)

These are ones I have probably only seen once. There are many that did get a fair run a while ago but only get a run on classic movie channels.

Pi Pi (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia in my mind a brilliantly made dark movie, starring Sean Gullette and a number of other obscure actors.

I've yet to find another person that enjoyed it and I suspect it will never be shown on commercial TV.

Bodyguard! I swear, it gets a run every 3 weeks!

Thank goodness they haven't got hold of the Star Wars series yet...

The more is less oxymoron! If it wasn't in front of our eyes it would be unbelievable.
It would be interesting to know which movie is the most repeated on 'free to air'.
Plenty of contenders but 'Mr & Mrs Smith' comes to mind pretty easily.
    Any other nominations?

Films we don't see repeated on TV

The growth in digital channels has provided networks with an outlet for their mothballed, haggard, dreary half a century old shows like I Dream Of Jeannie and Bewitched. And a flood of cheapo new stuff about Southern rednecks huntin' and shootin' el-ee-gay-tars and repossessing vee-hee-kills.

But what about some great older films? Why aren't they shown when every other week we get repeats of Pulp Fiction and Ocean's 12 and 13.

So, feel free to add to this incomplete list of the films which are rarely if ever repeated which I'd like to see....in no particular order.

    Reservoir Dogs
    Mean Streets
    Deliverance
Darby O'Gill and the Little People
    Stalag 17
    The Third Man
    The Grapes of Wrath
    Rebecca
    The Cain Mutiny
    The Ox Bow incident
    Lawrence of Arabia
    The Good Earth
    The Hunchback of Notre Dame
    Midnight Cowboy
    Sergeant York
