    to be honest, being a continental import of 81,  i am now only reasonably fluent in the imperial system, thanks to the dual purpose measuring tapes... it only gets tricky when i start measuring in inches and centimetres in the same project... its a wonder the conversion of the bus turned out as good as it did.... :

    My first pay packet was £3-8s-4d..... Dont know why that has stuck in my brain for all these years but I also remember that I thought "What on earth am I going to do with all this money?" :

    Geee you are all far toooooo young....

    How about Saturday matinee pictures and a drink for a shilling...... (10 cents!!)

    My first pay was 5 Pounds and a few pence ($10 for those who dont know the "real" money) per 40 hour week!!!
