Solar Impulse 2's around the world flight attempt - Live streaming
And Solar Impulse 2 is on the ground having landed safely in Abu Dhabi and thus completing its epic 40,000km around the world flight using nothing but solar power! Congratulations to the entire team for an exceptional job!
Solar Impulse 2 is now on the final leg of its' record setting around the world flight using only solar power. The flight from Cairo to Abu Dhabi is expected to take roughly 48 hours.
Hrmmm...add an hour to the time to landing. Someone mucked up and was quoting London time instead of the UTC that they're operating on forgetting that London is an hour ahead of UTC in their summer.
As always the real time flight controls and instrumentation feeds as well as location/tracking info is available here: Solar Impulse - 16th Leg from Seville to Cairo This page also has the live video feed on it but it is a smaller window than the link posted above which is hosted on YouTube.
Solar Impulse 2 has taken off from Seville, Spain and is on its way to Cairo, Egypt on what if all goes well is it's next to last leg. Leaving Cairo will be its last leg as it flies on to Abu Dhabi where it started this amazing fuel-less flight around the world back in March 2015.
And Solar Impulse 2 is on its way across the Atlantic flying from New York to Seville, Spain. This is the longest remaining leg of their around the world flight and is expected to take about 90 hours. The virtual Cockpit can be found here along with the live stream from the aircraft.
