Okay, just tried Chrome and typing was fine. Verrry strange! Looks like when I want to say something, it will have to be Chrome. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hello Barry.
When I said other forums I should have specified other places on this site, eg. Brewing Equipment - Midrange. I use IE11 but it has always been the same on earlier versions of IE. I have a very good specced computer and am still using Windows 7. It is not a very important problem, I was just curious to know if others had the same thing occur. I have Chrome installed and will give that a go although I don't like it as much as IE. Will report back.

No worries. One thing that is worth trying is to go through Settings / Advanced / 'Restore Advanced Settings'.Originally posted by cleanCup View PostSorry, I am using internet explorer.
I don't use IE much (only when forced).

Ive had problems twice:
1) when I was using Internet Explorer on Windows 7 Pro.
Site owner here recommended I go to Chrome, but I went to Firefox instead. Never had a problem since. Go Firefox.
2) when I was having a "cheapness phase" and bought a home computer from Aldi. The specs on paper were fantastic and the price was....cheap. Had the same symptoms described above. Windows 8. Cant remember about the browser but it did it even when just writing a document. I didn't persevere and took it back. Bought a good computer instead, back to Windows 7 and Firefox and whalla, problem solved.

I was getting similar problems. There appeared to often be a lag between typing and what appeared in the Post typing block. It made you feel you should be pressing the keys with more force, which of course was not needed using other application. There also seemed to be a problem when you select a word to overtype due to a spelling mistake for instance, sometimes it took a while to comprehend you had selected the word even though it was shown highlighted, nothing happened when you overtype. Most cases you had to re-select and try again. Also some keyboard keys seemed to not do what you expected them to do. Some of it could be due to the auto save feature on the portal. That was on Windows 8.1 and usually IE.
I have just upgraded to Windows 10 and trying Microsoft Edge. Still seems to be some issues. However none of them showstoppers, just annoying.

OK. As nobody seems prepared to disclose what browser they are using, you might try the following:
1) Try a different browser and see whether the same problem exists.
2) If using Chrome, remove/disable any third-party toolbars. Try disabling the 'hardware acceleration' option in Setting / Advanced.
3) Assuming your problem only applies to 1 browser, backup your settings, then uninstall the browser, and re-install it.

Yep, I get exactly the same problem. I have to type really slowly with only one finger like when I was a kid. Otherwise it misses nearly every second letter

Could one of you please cite what device / browser you are using?
I seem to remember a similar problem I had using Chrome on a Windows 8 PC about a year ago. IIRC it was related to a problem with one of the Chrome plug-ins.

Very hard to understand what you mean, give that you finish by saying that 'typing this message is fine....what is the matter on other forums?' What other forums?Originally posted by beezneez View PostAm I the only one who has a big problem typing? When I write a message on the forums or send a reply to an email it takes ages because if I type at a normal speed ( not that fast!) letters are missed and it is a big jumble. What is the secret? Typing this message is fine, quite normal, so what is the matter on the other forums?
It would very much help if you let us know what device / browser (or other software) you are using to access the forum.
