Mal, I presume you will be familiar with the price of mid 70's 900 SS's now.
I wish I had bought a few in the 80's when they were relatively cheaper and stored them.
Mmmm. The sound of Conti's under power..........
A friend of mine had a Ducati 860GT some years back and left it stored at my place while he was living temporarily interstate. Eventually he decided to sell it and gave me first option for $2500 before he advertised it. I should have bought it even though at that stage I was still restricted to 250cc - I did take it for a couple of fangs around the block and discovered there's nothing quite like the bellow of Contis. Square case models aren't worth as much as round case ones, but even an 860GT is worth $10,000 to $15,000 these days.
I have to make do with a Kawasaki GPZ750-A3 these days, although even it is an appreciating classic, being the last evolution of the original aircooled Kawasaki Z series engines before the next model changed to a watercooled engine.

I'm currently in Strahan TAS and woke up this morning the rumbles of bikes.
Outside my cottage were parked 8 Dukes and diwn the road there appears to be a lot more.
For the record, the blue bike on the left was a Suzuki, there's a red Honda hiding at the back, and the rest were Dukes. I gather than most of the large group of bikes off-camera would have been all or nearly all Dukes. A mix of riders from the Canberra District Ducati Club, and the Ducati Owners club of Victoria.
There's always time to ride if you want to ride. When I bought my bike 3 years ago I did not want it to end up in the garage gathering dust so I promised myself that my bike would be my daily drive (rain or shine, hot or cold, night or day) for the first 5 years and that the only time I would drive anything with 4 wheels would be when absolutely necessary... i.e. when picking up hundreds of kgs of coffee beans. I even deliver my roasted coffee on two wheels. Two more years to go on my pledge and absolutely NO REGRETS! Loving every minute of it!
Yeah the Ducati has become the commute vehicle for the moment. Im certainly getting out on it more these days. It just runs so smooth in the cool morning air.
oooooh Triumphs are nice. There are just too many nice bikes with not enough cash to buy them and not enough time to ride them.

This was my step-up bike from a CB600F Hornet. 600 felt great after a year or so on a 250 but the amount of torque from the V-twin in teh ducati is what blew me away.
Are you on Harleys these days, nathanharley? Just guessing by the name haha.
