  • Comfort food.

    Weather cooling, menu changing.

Beef Stroganoff on egg noodles for dinner last night, most enjoyable.

For them that's interested, a link to the recipe.

I’ve been using MealPal recently for my work lunches. Some really tasty options have come up.

    Today’s was a Cuban Sandwich.

Total comfort food. If you’ve seen the Jon Favreau movie “Chef”, this dish may be familiar.

Good stuff, I'm a warm weather person.

Regardless the Strog hit the spot last night.

I have seen the movie and loved it. Story of a fine dining chef going back to his roots of a more honest style of cooking. Good for a laugh, but don't watch it while you're hungry!

On the topic of winter comfort food, my favourite of all time is Feijoada - Brazillian Black Bean Stew.
It's simply black beans and various meats stewed for hours and hours - usually bacon/speck, beef cheek, ribs, chorizo often in Brazil trotter, ear, snouts etc for flavour with spices. Served iwth rice and slices of fresh orange.

Super easy to make and a 'one pot wonder'.

Sounds good, suspect some of the ingredients may present a problem in my neck of the woods, perhaps a shopping list when next in the smoke.
