In this case a diver got lucky when an Orca grabbed his catch bag while he was still attached. Not a direct attack as such but tish happens.

Did a Wild Orca Really Just Attack a Diver in New Zealand?

I suspect orcas are smart enough to tell the difference between a human in a rubber suit, and a seal (very different movement, for a start, and people probably register completely differently to anything else on there orca senses - like how a small dog and a large cat register completely differently to us - I defy anyone to mistake a Bengal or Savannah cat for a Pekingese or a French Bulldog).

Having said that, wild animal is wild, and you never know when a starving creature with a mass measured in tonnes will decide it would rather do a taste test than die.

The diver in me is insanely jealous of the buoyancy control those Orcas show in the surf.

I'd have jumped in too, for the record (as I have done in the past with sharks).

Orcas join a swimmer for a closer look. Wearing a black wetsuit and looking a bit like a seal, she's probably lucky the Orcas didn't end up picking neoprene out of their teeth. Orcas aka Killer Whales have a passion for hunting seals so this was possiby a case of playing with fire.

Apparently the swimmer got out of the water when she first spotted the Orcas and then got back in to continue her swim!
