Yep, Nursing Homes are probably the next scariest thing to Cancer. Even the good ones have their limitations and of course some folks don't have any caring relatives to keep an eye on things.
..and let's not forget that some old folks have very challenging behaviours - that would stretch even caring family, let alone stressed, underpaid, undertrained staff.
As for Euthanasia, big fans in this house.

I'm fearing that if I live long enough, to end up in a nursing home, I'll welcome any distraction from the mind numbing behaviour control drugs and even more mind numbing boredom.
Ps anyone for euthanasia?

Yep, if I live long enough to end up in a nursing home I may have to sit dribbling in front of TV programs chosen for me but whilst I still have some free will left I just turn off people and things that annoy me.
PC doesn't apply in my house.

Yep, very true....Originally posted by beensean View PostShown also to cause a fractional delay in the opponent picking up flight of the ball because their sensory attention is briefly diverted, sound cues being particularly important evolutionarily.
Auditory responses always take precedence over visual cues, so it may well be a tactic used by "screamers" seeking advantage over their opponents, however small it may be.

Yeah true doesn't make any sense with a backhand slice hehe.. I guess on the practice courts they're just working on technique, 'greasing the grooves', increasing blood flow, and wouldn't wanting to be exhausting themselves with full power shots before their matchOriginally posted by DaveD View PostIt's kind of strange though when it happens on a backhand slice. Also, you don't seem to hear them screech when practicing.

What a screamer!
A couple of days ago I thought I'd walked in on the missus watching porn. But no, it was a tennis match. On one side of the court (the cause of my confusion) was a chick who let out a 'fingernail on chalkboard' type screech every time she hit the ball. On the other side of the court, showing admirable restraint, was her African/American rival who looked quite capable of jumping the net and putting a stop to it - but unfortunately didn't.
Ps why is this unsporting behaviour even tolerated?
Ps 2 it's just not cricket.Tags: None
