When I was doing the shopping for my elderly Mum I noticed over a period of years that the box/package sizes remained the same but the weight/number/size of the contents got smaller year by year.
(of course the price did not reduce)

As a bee keeper myself I’m pretty sure it’s been much publicised recently that coles suppliers of honey barely have 8% actual honey in a bottle of honey . Honey in that there cereal would be what ever was waived over the top of the conveyor belt and the rest sugar syrup or syrup of multiple properties to make it sickly sweet . My old grandad use to cal it a chemical shitstorm .

The last time I saw anything shrink that much was when my water heater packed it in and I had to take a freezing cold shower.

According to the box: 8% Honey and they've added an unspecified amount of something they call 'Honey Flavour' because (I'm just speculating here) 8% honey just doesn't cut it.

Ps I hope that clears it up for you. If it does, you're way smarter than I am.

    Hi

The image needs to be widely disseminated via social media and even better if it gets on TV so that their sales plummet. The weight of the contents will be printed on the box but most consumers still go by the box size, Coles know that, so yes I agree with you that they are "fooling consumers into thinking the are getting more they actually are". I'd call it deceptive. As a kid (and even now) I do like Honey Smacks (and Froot Loops) but I certainly would not buy Coles ones.

I wonder how much real Honey is in there also?

Cynical question I Know, but is there a practical reason for the obviously excessive packaging - other than for fooling consumers into thinking the are getting more they actually are?

Ps no issues with taste, quality or value. Just seems like a waste of resources.
