Re: poddy66 goes under the knife
Heya Poddy best of luck for ya op,
if you really wanna have some fun whilst in hospital try this, I did it when I was in hosp last year for a lung collapse...
Get hold of an empty saline drip bag, ask the nurse to remove the pointy bits(needle) get a friend to bring you in a black coffee(or use the coffee they serve you with food(not worth drinking) and use a examination glove, nick a hole in it and refill the saline bag iwth coffee. Tie off the end and put the new "mainline coffee bag" up on the drip holder next to your bed and get the nurse to tape it to the top of your wrist.
Then when your surgeon does his daily rounds the look on their face is sooo worth the effort "i didnt like the coffee doc so I mainlined a batch a friend made"
Seriously its worth the effort!
I made my own fun in hospital...
Hope it goes well for you..

Re: poddy66 goes under the knife
hope all goes well with the shoulder poddy spurs are removed and you make a fast painless recovery so you can get back to work and earn again and make coffee all the things you are missing on at the moment hospitals can be a pain in themselves perhaps a little levity as suggested by sullo can compensate but anyway best of luck robusto

Re: poddy66 goes under the knife
an if you dont, ask for more morphine, everything looks better with that, I still remember when they took me outta the ambulance and shot me with it, I was scared sh@tless(yes I admit it) but you really relax after that...Originally posted by Thundergod link=1186529469/0#3 date=1186567758Hopefully youll get a pretty nurse.
And dont drink their coffee or tea, geta friend to send you some or we will all have to pitch in and make a standing order for you at the local cafe to be delivered...
Which remnds me which state are you in, we cannot leave a snob in need fellas.....

Re: poddy66 goes under the knife
Dosing may be the trickiest bit.
Pulling the shot should be easy after that.
So it depends on your grinder.
Doser or doserless?
Dosing into a container I suppose will be the way to go.
Then you can spoon into the PF and after that it might get tricky again.
I have a PF with the angled handle that sits it straight on the bench.
If yours is the sam you only need to hold it still while you tamp.
I suggest biting on the handle while you tamp.
If you dont have the angled handle youll need to find something to rest the handle on to level the basket.
I hope that helps a bit.

Re: poddy66 goes under the knife
Hello Coffeesnobbers. Mrs. poddy66 here. Just wanted to let you all know that Stevens operation went better than expected. Not as much damage as first thought and no titanium screws needed. Recovery time should be quicker. But may take a bit longer as I dont think the coffee he is getting in the hospital is too flash. Thanks everyone for your best wishes. Will pass them on to Steven. Cheers, Karen (mrs. poddy66)
