  • Santa out. The Sustainability Pirate in.

The nuffies are at it again. Santa replaced by the Sustainability Pirate at a Melbourne Child Care Centre. Seriously, some people need to get off the Party Drugs!

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7783077/Melbourne-childcare-centre-replaced-Santa-Sustainability-Pirate-stand-move.html

"Piracy is an act of robbery or criminal violence by ship or boat-borne attackers upon another ship or a coastal area, typically with the goal of stealing cargo and other valuable items or properties. Those who engage in acts of piracy are called pirates."

That's what's deemed a suitable replacement by the virtue signalers? Once again the minority dictating terms to the majority.

Beggars belief, of course it had to be in hipster Melbourne, must be something in the water down there, or perhaps its genetic.
Wonder if they realise just how ridiculous this makes them look, very strange people.

The saving grace is that they tend to congregate in select areas sparing the rest of us day to day contact with them.

(Maybe one day they'll find a cure but I suspect most of them are also anti-vaxxers so it may be hard to administer)

BTW, you'll know when you're entering one of their clusters by the crumpled fixies lying next to the bearded, horn-rimmed glass wearing, flannelette clad person spreadeagled on the road, next to a dented car which they couldn't stop quickly enough to avoid. Unfortunately, his spotty kids won't be able to visit him in hospital because they're probably still infectious.

Brilliant, the Daily Mail! Such a reliable source. They even managed to squeeze in the 'political correctness gone mad' quote.
Wikipedia Bans Daily Mail As Unreliable Source

How dare the child minding centre reject Santa, a Coca Cola invention who has nothing to do with Jesus. Do you also intend to complain about Captain Feathersword?

Nah. He sums up for me what the Sustainability Pirate really represents with FeatherSword being a polite way of saying soft c**k. (male chook).

OK, Coke didn't invent Santa but it doesn't diminish my argument. Santa is a secular concept.

Is that all? Come on, as you are bent on disparaging all of that community with the imagined worst examples, surely you could drum up a few more hate-fueled stereotypes.

                They speak well of you.

                Merry Christmas

And enjoyed by millions worldwide. People always have the choice of not sharing in the enjoyment rather than spoiling it for the majority who share in the pleasure and have done so for a very long time. Excuse yourself and celebrate the Sustainability Pirate in private with the 1 or 2 others who may share your perspective. He poses no danger as he is a soft c**k after all. The only thing this Pirate steals is joy.

I learnt that by watching how the minorities present an argument. Take the extreme examples and push them as the norm. Difference is, I do it tongue in cheek rather than in a deluded frenzy.

Arrrr, Fair winds and easy tides to you, me hearty!

Shhh... just between us, Father Christmas is fake, a lie, yes some parents lie to their children about the existance of a mythical person who gifts "good" kids pressies - sublime. As for only good children get a visit from Santa, what message does that send to poor children who cannot afford gifting? The original message of another pagan festival has been corrupted by Big Corp. Happy Holidays! and Happy Christmas.

Maybe the Sustainability Pirate can give them the present of guilt for the damage their parents have done to the Environment by first having Children (more consumers for the world) and shock, horror, then also using disposable nappies while raising them?

BTW The Smith Family and other charities do a great job of looking after many kids whose families can't afford to partake in the Christmas tradition of gift giving. Retailers have hijacked the spirit of Christmas by pushing the idea of extravagant gifts but many families stick with modest gifts as a way to acknowledge and remember people in their lives.

We obviously have a different understanding of the term secular.

"Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, or simply Santa, is a legendary figure originating in Western Christian culture who is said to bring gifts to the homes of well-behaved children on the night of Christmas Eve (24 December) or during the early morning hours of Christmas Day (25 December).[1] The modern Santa Claus grew out of traditions surrounding the historical Saint Nicholas (a fourth-century Greek bishop and gift-giver of Myra), the British figure of Father Christmas, and the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas (himself also based on Saint Nicholas). Some maintain Santa Claus also absorbed elements of the Germanic god Wodan, who was associated with the pagan midwinter event of Yule and led the Wild Hunt, a ghostly procession through the sky."

Flynnaus, You keep digging a bigger hole for yourself.

First of all you shoot the messenger (Daily Mail, 7News) as though you believe such a story couldn't possibly be true so it had to be an outright lie.

Then you erroneously claim Saint Nicholas/Santa Claus/ Father Christmas is an invention of the coca cola company... What??

Then you claim that while that wasn't the case Saint Nicholas/Santa Claus / Father Christmas is a secular figure. What??? Wrong again.

I find it extraordinary how people rise to defend the indefensible each time a great tradition is turned on its head.

Sustainability pirate? Bah humbug. What a freaking load of hot nonsense by deluded idiots who live in la la land.

As CafeLotta said...virtue signalling by green left grinch greens.

I wasn't going to respond, but...
Click on the link, and as well as Daily Mail you have 7 News with the story.

Repeating a myth doesn't exculpate you.

I don't feel as I really should be educating adults, but Saint
Nicholas, Santa Claus, Father Christmas , Saint Nick....all one and the same.

Santa Claus is a delightful, happy, Christmas tradition. Sustainability pirate is foisted hogwash.
