geocities sites are free, you use a yahoo id and from that create a free geo site, depends of course on traffic, you end up with a url that looks something like www.geocities.com/username (your yahoo one) or you can create another one, from there you pay 11 usd a month to make your own domain name. Pretty cheap and easy to maintain.
they support php perl and a few other forum type sites.
Blogs do allow others to add comments to what you write (and allow you to respond back to the comments...), so you can have some interaction.
A Blog would most likely be the quickest and easiest to get started with. If things grow you could move on to a Website and Forum. There are plenty of places that will host these for you at a reasonably low cost.
Why not just start a blog, it wont cost you anything other than time, it will get your feet wet, and might help you guage interest.
Ditto Sullo with one addition: Scoots are you looking to display your own views on the subject or have it interactive like CS? That will also affect what technologies youll need.
what sort of format you got in mind like this one?yabb.com I think, or a running blog one like Grendels page?
Asking that so it zeroes in on software youll need.
Sounds like a great idea best of luck to you.

Im after some advice and Im sure that some of you would be kind enough to give it to me, please!
As most of you know my story, I wont go into too much boring detail, suffice to say I have a desire to start some sort of support group for grieving partners and families of those whove suffered fatal aircraft accidents.
A friend suggested I could get it off the ground by either doing a blog, webpage or forum.
As much as I know how to use forums and browse webpages and read blogs, I am a complete newbie when it comes to actually creating this stuff!
I have done a search on blogs but its just a lot of information in and I as I have no experience here, I dont know whats good in the blogging world. I do have a Bebo account and use it a bit but that is not a public site and so people cant find me there that are searching the internet for this sort of thing.
My ISP does have a 5mb webpage space I could use.
And I have fiddled with Forumer.com before but if your forum doesnt get any use it disappears after a month or so.
Okay, so Ive had minimal experience!
What do you guys reckon? Should I blog it, forum it or just webpage it?
My aim at this stage is to have something where folk can come for some answers on the hows and whys of what the official processes are, as well as some practical advice, maybe some more "real" help with their grieving process from someone (and not necessarily myself, if there are others who "join" in.) who has also experienced similar circumstances. Having been through it myself, I can see a real need in the aviation industry for it. I would probably like to focus on the aerial agricultural industry first and if other aviation wants to be involved I guess we could just see how it goes.
Of course, there could be zero interest out there but I have to do something to find that out.
I gave that information above so you could see just what I am thinking of doing. I know I run the risk of someone else seeing this and doing something similar but knowing most of you here, I dont think that there are too many of you who have been through this sort of thing before!
