  • share market plummet

Wow. What a day on the share market... Opened bad and it was down hill and cliff faces from then on right up to the close. No-one could complain about a roller-coaster ride today --- it was a downhill freefall with no ups.

One of the worst falls this year thanks to last weeks inflation jitters in the USA, abeted by the Centro property group here hitting the rocks today and diving 76 per cent. Could have bought a couple of brand new two-groups with todays paper losses!

Hang on to the seat betls...its going to be quite a ride.

It might be time to buy Centro shares and then buy those two new two groups when the price bounces back.

Thats the sort of thing I do in "normal" times, TG. But with this sort of extreme volatility its more prudent to pull over the covers and ride out the storm.

          I was only half kidding.

Ive sold all my shares now as I tired of the whole game after many years.

However when there was that "correction" in the eighties I did buy and made some nice profits on the ride back up.

Only one share was slow to recover but it too eventually did.

In almost 20 years of share trading I never lost.

I do have one small parcel left and those it seems will be my one loss when I do get rid of them.
They are too far gone I think.

          But overall a good record.

Ive sometimes missed good profits by being too conservative but Ive never thrown good money away by being too rash.

Thats been an excelent outcome for you Thundergod. Losses are a pain, but they do offset capial gains and lower the tax bill.
