The popup is back. But thats okay. Id rather say no than have the webpage copy stuff from my clipboard without my knowing.

(Just got Java 6 Update 6 now).

Thanks for the tip. I found multiple java versions on my system, so freed up a lot of space as well as getting rid of the popup.

The first time it happened I checked my clipboard and found a password - so was a bit concerned by the message

Yeah, the java version helps hide it.

That actual message is a "feature" of the forum. If something happens when you hit submit and your post doesnt appear on the site then the posted message is still sitting locally on your clipboard and you can paste it into a new message.

The initial seat of the pants reaction is that the forum is trying to do something "nasty" to your computer but in actual fact its just saving you re-typing a long reply that goes feral.

(did any of that make sense? Well I know what I mean!)

Its been happening to me since upgrading to IE7.
    Usually on preview or edit.

Remy how do I find my Java version and how do I change it like you did?
    Are you using IE7?
    Yep IE7
Go to your Control Panel then select Add & Delete Programs
Download from this page here (5th one down the page) and itll do it all automatically. Takes about 5mins.

YES!!!!!!!! sorry didnt mean to shout.

The darn thing drove me insane for the first two or three months,.. and I have been meaning to post about this myself. It still happens every time I post,.. but I guess Ive become numbed to it lately and its automatic getting rid of it each time,...... so automatic I cannot even tell you which button I select, lol.

Access to clipboard - post message problem?

Does anyone else ever get a popup asking if the webpage can have access to your clipboard?  Seems to only happen on this site - sometimes when I use the post button and sometimes when I use the save button (with Internet Explorer).

"Do you want this webpage to access your clipboard" is the message.

Needless to say I click no.  From research it could be a javascript problem?  Or maybe its just my system?  (I dont think I have any viruses or trojans resident, with pretty good continuous monitoring).
Working...
