I watched a few youtube "silva" milk texturing vids today then had a stab at a making some better microfoam.......
i had much better results using my little saeco bar2000 but i am worried about how much steam is useable before it "runs dry" and cooks.
today i drew of more wet steam (prior to texturing) than normal to see if it "dries out" it did and i got a great result
normal process for me is
turn on
grind coffee,
heat machine to "ready" (already full of H2O)
prime machine
press steam button wait for "light on"
purge steam 2-3secs
texture 40-50sec 1 cup (?? will time)
clean wand
turn off "steam buttom"
prime machine (refill boiler)
heat porta and cup
fill porta and attach
wait for light if "off"
pull shot
swirl milk and make my attempt at latte art
clean machine (empty porta, prime machine to wash shower etc)
enjoy.......
today i tried purging steam for 6 - 8 seconds and it got a lot dryer IMO
but when steaming light went "out" out means heating on mine (i think, as it lights when "ready") i tried to "keep it on" like the Silva vids
concerned about running the small boiler dry ????
not sure how much but its small, maybe 300ml?
whats the via venezia boiler size?
Mine is brass but looks quite small (could not see a volume label)
thoughts .....? off to pull a shot
