Re: Cheap machine just to steam milk at work
Thanks for all your replies guys. As luck would have it my cousin just called whom I gave my Gaggia to when I upgraded. She just upgraded to a Silvia aswell so asked if I wanted the gaggia back, so will take that to work for steaming.
Great timing!
Now what to buy with that spare $100.... ;D

Re: Cheap machine just to steam milk at work
How about one of those aerocinnos? I have not used one but watched a video on youtube. Looks fine and would probably suit your purposes. I think it would also be in your price range and readily available.

Re: Cheap machine just to steam milk at work
BOEMA make stand alone steamer machines
Used commercial equipment places may have other brands
However I am not sure if they are tank or plumbed in models as you indicated that you dont have a kitchen

Cheap machine just to steam milk at work
Hi guys, Im using an aeropress at work to make coffee for everyone and currently microwave the milk and froth it in one of those plunger things. I would love to get a Stovetop steamer but we dont actually have a kitchen at work (I wash up in a bucket) so need something electric.
Sooo bring me to the question - thinking I will just buy a cheapy machine and just use it to steam the milk - can anyone suggest a machine around or under the $100 mark that produces good steam?
Also will it be a problem for a machine to only steam and not also pull shots?
Thanks!Tags: None
