Re: Step 1 complete
I recommend you work on each of the grind, dose, tamp & brew steps and adjust your method according to both taste and appearance.
Take some photos or small vids and post them here, or make notes on time, colour, etc. and the experts (of which Im not one!) will chime in!
wrt the beans - just make sure the roast date isnt too old and the storage is ok. Even the best beans can be ruined!
HTH.

Re: Step 1 complete
Gday Rogue, welcome to Coffee Snobs.
Nothing is weird around here, I reckon weve heard it all.Originally posted by 704C417B764B435141240 link=1283241197/0#0 date=1283241197(but am keen to try anything weird
I recommend you navigate to the roasted coffee tab top left hand corner of the page, check out the selection then order some freshly roasted beans from Coffee Snobs, the price is right and quality is first rate.Originally posted by 704C417B764B435141240 link=1283241197/0#0 date=1283241197So, CSers, what do you recommend I do to begin with?

Step 1 complete
Ok... I have begun, now what do you recommend?
I picked up a Baby Gaggia really quite cheaply, and a brand new Sunbeam grinder (the 450 model). I have them both up and functioning. I am using Oomph coffee from a local Burnie cafe (but am keen to try anything weird, different and delicious if anyone can point me at local Tasmanian roasters or anything like that).
The better half probably wont let me upgrade anytime soon - plus I need to get used to the whole making decent coffee at home thing - but mods are probably ok...
So, CSers, what do you recommend I do to begin with? Can you recommend any local roasters? Are there mods I should consider?Tags: None
