Hello all - Im another newbie searching for technical advice. My new Breville Ikon/Krups upressurised basket/sunbeam burr grinder/coffee roasted this week setup is not turning out lovely thick & rich espresso.
I cant grind any finer (below 10 on the Sunbeam scale) otherwise I end up with 1 minute-plus pours of burnt coffee and slop in the basket afterwards.
The milk frothing spout spits out water intermittently long after I think it should be pure steam (that is a guess and only based on previous machines: from commercials to a cheap sunbeam).
So Im wondering: maybe the thing isnt as hot as it should be?
Has anyone figured out how to adjust the temperature on an Ikon?
What else should I try?
Many thanks

Baskets are designed to be used full. A great thing to add to your coffee kit is a set of electronic jewelers scales from evilbay ($20-25) then you can pre weigh the beans and eliminate that variable.
