  • Unpressurised basket????

Ok I have a sunbeam cafe crema and im pretty sure it has a pressurised basket as it only has one little pin hole on the bottom. (you cant see out of all the holes). Does anyone know if a Krups unpressurised basket would fit into the portar filter?? if so would it make that mush of a difference as i have heard that the krups unpressurised basket produces little or no crema and the basket easily falls out in the knock box?
    Can anyone help.....
    Thanks

    Re: Unpressurised basket????

Im using a Krups basket with the cafe crema. I had to attack the spring in the holder with a pair of pliers to make it stay in when you knock out the puck. But with freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee it produces plenty of crema and you can get a proper slow extraction. If you use stale coffee, or have it too coarsely ground, no
    Crema.

Theres a bit of a fine line with the machine between having it choke up completely and producing really quite decent coffee. But if you can dial that in on the grinder for a cheap machine it does OK.

Order the ones from breville. Exactly the same size, but unpressurised.

I presume these will also work with the EM3800 Cafe Espresso?

To answer my own question....Yes the Breville BSWF100 baskets fits the Sunbeam EM3800 perfectly as well
