Did you try unscrewing the shower screen and seeing if theres some muck built up under that one? Just make sure you unplug it from the wall first!

By pods I mean the basket that holds the grind. i CHECKED AND CLEANED IT AND THERE ARE NO BLOCKAGES. The underside has also been cleaned. After a coffe, I allow water to pass throuigh with no basket attached.

I use fresh beans and have varied the grind to see if it makes a difference.

I am referring to a Mocha - which gives a straight black coffee with no crema.

I think the noise is the pump - it is similar to when you run out of water and the whole unit become twice as noisy as whem it is drawing in the water.

It also takes a while to start to release the coffee from the basket. Originally it started to pour very quickly.

Cafe Roma - New and Noisy !

On my second Breville Cafe Roma. The first lasted about 5 years and great to the end.
Just bought a new one in November 2010 and it was great for 3 mths. But now it is very noisy when I pour a coffee and it seems that it is struggling to push the water through. Also noticed that the crema is now virtually non existant.

Ive done all the usual checks of cleaning coffee pods, water container properly anchored in etc.

Cant understand why it wont perform. Id be better off using the old espresso perculator.

Any suggestions from the snobs ?.
