Has anyone tried the La Pavoni Europiccola Milenium double basket #MP68 in the Breville Bar Vista.  Its 51mm but looks fairly deep and may not clear the bottom of the porta-filter.  Thinking of giving it a try and doing a porta mod if it dosnt clear. Heres a pic..

Hi There, short time reader, first time poster.

First up Im not a coffee snob but I do enjoy my coffee and am striving to make the best with the equipment I have at home.  That being a sunbeam em5600 that I inherited (my first espresso machine) and I just bought a sunbeam em0450 grinder.  Scoff as many of you may, its not in the budget to upgrade for quite some time so itll have to do.  So after perusing your cool forum I was looking at getting a "normal" basket - my question is will the part numbers quoted by tonyd fit in the em5600?.

    cheers, Nick

p.s my first love is beer - here is a great forum for any coffee snob/beer brewers who havent stumbled onto it yet. http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/

No problem. And yeah, theyre too pricey for my liking but probably worth it in the end.

Maybe you could scout around and find a basket elsewhere for cheaper?

    Hi Ozz!

Take a look at the thread I started over here http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1193121341

    Hope that helps
Sure does, thanks mate although at $20 I think I might stick to my bastardised basket & try to mod one of the others a little nicer. It works as is so long as I get the grind & tamp pressure right but its a little bit hit & miss.

    Hi Tony

I have the Krups baskets for my breville.  The single is very loose, but it still works fine!

To be honest I only use the double as I find the extraction a lot better!

    Regards
    Andrew
Any idea if these are a suitable fit for a brev cafe roma?
Also where did you end up getting these from & were they expensive?

    Hi Guys

Thanks for the advice, I have only been using the two cup basket to make 1 or 2 cups and seems to work well.
I agree the 1 cup basket is probably not worth purchasing.

    Cheers
    Tony

I agree... Have only used the 2 cup unit and if I wanted a single / lighter shot I would just stop the pour... NOTE: Still dose the two cup basket correctly.

For home use the amount of coffee saved Vs the quality of the shot is just not worth it in my opinion.

Help with Krups baskets on Sunbeam Cafe Crema

    Hi

I purchased the Krups baskets that suit the Sunbeam Cafe Crema EM4800C.

The part numbers of the Krups baskets are as follows :
    MS 0907163 - 2 Cup Basket
    MS 0925592 - 1 Cup Basket

The two cup basket fits well into the handle, and is held in place by the clips on the handle. But the one cup basket is a loose fit mainly because the cylindrical part at the top of the basket is only about 2mm and therefore does not clip into the handle. Im thinking they sent me the wrong one basket but am unsure.

Can someone verify the fit of the one basket or even take a photo of the one basket and post it.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Tony
