  • EM3600 loose filter

Hi all, Ive come into possession of a used EM3600- grinder is on the way, and first order of business was to get some single wall baskets. I ended up with the Breville set, and they seem to work fine.

When I first got the machine, the standard Sunbeam basket would fall out if I tried to knock the coffee out of it. I figured this was due to the pressurized basket keeping the puck fairly wet. When I use the unpressurized basket, the puck is reasonably dry, but they are even looser in the portafilter so I still cant knock the coffee out without the filter going with it.

Any ideas on how to make it more secure? Thanks!

if you pull the basket out, Youd see a spring around the inside of the Group handle, Pull that out, and give the bends a bit more of a corner, then put it back in, Thatd fix the problem of the basket not being held firmly 99% of the times

I can confirm this. I recently did it to my own EM3600 when I obtained unpressurised baskets for it; even the original pressurised baskets were loose in the portafilter from day one.
