Just a thought - does your portafilter have a basket?

You need a decent grinder so you can grind just prior to brewing, as well as being able to adjust the grind for a proper pour. Does your machine use a single or double walled basket?

2º the coffe is having a bit of a metal taste
The machine needs to have more water run through it to flush out all of the descaling chemicals.

Get a decent grinder. Pouring too fast can mean the grind is not fine enough and or stale coffee. Also we cant see any of the photos u posted

Restoring my fathers old manual espresso machine

    Hi guys,

Ive just brought back the espresso machine that my father used probably 20-30 years ago.

The pump was broken and the heater was calcified, so the people who brought it back to life, put a new pump, a 12bar saeco, and they use a liquid to de-calcify it.

I been using it for a few days now, and there are a few things i cant figure out why they are happening.

i dont have a grinder so i bought mine in a coffee shop already grinded.

1º the coffee is pouring too fast
2º the coffe is having a bit of a metal taste

what can i do with this 2 problems ?

    ps: sorry about my english.

    Here are some photos
