  • Sunbeam EM5900 Killer Solenoid

    Hi Everyone,

I have a Sunbeam EM5900 which I was reeeeasonably happy with however, although I think it still works, it has "gone live". I don't mean gone live like a website, I mean really gone live, as in if you touch it you'll get the full 240 volts for your trouble.

I've isolated it down to the solenoid (which channels water or steam to the appropriate orifices) and which I'm sure can't be repaired. A replacement solenoid would be more than the machine is worth and a new one would be about $400, so I'm posting here in the hope that maybe someone out there has a solenoid from a dead Sunbeam that they could help me with. I believe it is a series 5319 made by CEMA in Italy.

    Fingers crossed

    Keith
