    +1 for the Breville Ikon.

If you can still get it with the free grinder, sell the grinder

Maybe you could stretch to an EM6910?

Do you have a good grinder?

    Dead Sunbeam Ristreto :-)

    Hi,
after two years of 3-4 coffees a day my Sunbeam Ristretto is dying...I did the krups basket thing, but never managed to get them to seal (even after putting in a new seal) properly, so I ended up cutting the bottoms off the Sunbeam ones. I managed in combination with my Sunbeam 480 grinder to make consistently drinkable cofee - I have an Italian friend who adores his coffee , wont drink at cafes etc, but enjoys mine, so I think Ive got the basics down reasonably.

What to replace the Ristretto with? I have a very restricted budget, no more than $250-$300.

I live near the Subeam seconds shop in Maribyrnong, and you can regularly get new units in marked boxes at a third off retail - so perhaps one of their more upmarket machines? Or perhaps just a new Ristretto (usually $65 at the seconds shop).

    Suggestions anyone? Breville Ikon BES400?

    cheers
    Gary
