Re: Non-pressurized portafilter for Saeco Via Vene
I have a vv and have done this modification. You do not need to buy a different portafilter (unless you want to keep the presurrized basket ???).
Just unscrew the base of the portafilter.
Pull out the plastic mechanism in the base.
Then you have to poke the false floor out of the upper part of the portafilter. Youll notice that theres a black plastic base with a pin hole. You need to remove this and the red o-ring seal. Pushing it out from underneath with something like a thermometer probe will do it.
The portafilter is now entirely depresurrized.
I then sent my basket to Greg Pullman in WA and he made a tamper to fit it perfectly. very happy with the results. Its a night and day difference. feel free to pm if you have further questions.
Re: Non-pressurized portafilter for Saeco Via Vene
The basket is fine, its the portafilter that needs changing, I just took the basket out of my old VV and put it in my sons DeLonghi to make his pf non-pressurised. Removing the spring loaded innards of VV would probably make it non-pressurised?
Re: Non-pressurized portafilter for Saeco Via Vene
I noticed the filter basket on a display model Saeco VV at a coffee supplies shop today was a single wall (non-pressurized). The shop was in Pymble NSW if that helps. Im sure any of the CS sponsers that stock Saeco would be able to let you know if they have single wall baskets for the VV.
I would like to obtain a non-pressurized portafilter and filter basket for a Saeco Via Venezia espresso machine. Could anyone tell me where I could obtain one? Many thanks. Potio
