Re: Wega 3 group Sphera
HI Phatboy,
i used to have a Wega Sphera single group for home use. I just sold it and now have a GS3. Wega machines are def HX. They have a huge single copper boiler.
Couple of points:
takes a long time to heat up, once it is warm it stays warm and its great. It can produce steam within about 5 mins but short blacks need about and hour to be really good.
if you are using it for home use the temp stability is a nightmare to manage - its simply not designed to it idles and you can run cooling flushes through it till the cows come home but the simple fact is trying to reproduce consistent shots is nigh on impossible.
steam quantity is enormous
when you get the temp right the quality of shots can be very very good
takes up a lot of space on the bench
hope that helps
