Re: Looking for a cheap old pro - Whats out there?

The Brasilia is on auction tomorrow at Parramatta.
Looked like there might be a grinder as well from the pic.

Re: Looking for a cheap old pro - Whats out there?

I went to the catering auction but only stayed till the first 1 (astoria) went for about $350 came up and a mazzer grinder , IMO the machines they had there yesterday were not worth standing around for and waiting for the home user.
they were all old external pump, old and dirty, one brasila 3grp may have been ok but about 5kw i think
if the pump alone were stuffed (and they looked sad) thats maybe $200 easy to add on to your repair bill. and most would need a full strip and test and piping, filters, + parts and stuff

i bid $100 on the astoria as the pump looked shiny.....

the mazzer (lugi??) went about $310 (inc commission of 15%) and it ran (i tested it) i bid but did not think it was really worth the $350+ i would have had to pay, plus new burrs?? etc

they had 1 boeam volumetric 1grp that might have been ok (auction number 5##) internal pump model, might still be sitting there?

i will go back for a look again but i reckon you can do just as good in egay or CS

that machine at auction at Parramatta looks a lot better in their pics, still was in use short time ago. and nice and shiny and modern but reckon it will be 2k+?

if any one intends to go to Omaras, as a rough guide for every 100 items it takes about an hour.

so if you are looking at item 200 you don,t need to rush over at 10am i would get there about 12 (lunch)

or got to the inspection the days before for a look.......

        have fun

Ill find out how much it went for (if it sells) later.
There were only two people looking at it yesterday.
Im told it looks even better now than in the photo.
Someone bothered to give it a clean.

Hi all and thanks for all the advice.I have just won a Rancilio S24 on ebay.Assuming it is as described and makes it here in one piece I think it should suit my needs.
Just went in to Barazi to buy a new group seal and saw a working used 2 group Rancilio & I think they want $500 for it
