Wired in Parallel is  VERY  Different to Bridge out...    SROFLMFAO

And for the people that search and then take on advice as found on forums re making electrical mods...

This is a good reason one should avoid mush of what ya read...

The commonly used Sirai pressurestat found in most commercial machines (including Klubs) has 3 sets of switching contacts, and most machines tend to be wired with one active line for each leg of the element running through one set of the contacts. Klubs generally have 2 leg elements, so the pressurestats in them usually only use 2 of the 3 sets of contacts available, which means they tend to burn out quicker but leave one set of contacts brand new. Some machines you will find with bridging plates fitted across the terminals inside the pressurestat so all the power fed through the pressurestat (be it via 1, 2 or 3 wires) is shared evenly across all 3 sets of contacts so the pressurestat tends to last longer.

But I do agree, Klub machines arent worth investing any real $ in repairing, as they are very flimsy inside. Ive had to do a boiler replacement on one less than 2 years old where the boiler seams just started leaking EVERYWHERE due to poor welding. And all the pipework in them is very thin and poor quality - if I have to do an onsite repair I take a crate full of parts from several scrapped Klubs as chances are something will be cracked and leaking.

it is always good to bridge inside the thermostat so you could draw the power evenly to the element.
Be very careful with the advice you give as you are dealing with inexpierienced people, what happens if the pressure switch is also running the neutral and someone takes your advice?

If you dont have expierience with electrical DO NOT TOUCH IT you may wind up dead.

As for the Klub, if the electronics are shot, bin it it is not worth trying to find part for them

    Cheers Tim
    Well said Tim...

I read it and went - new user & 5 posts in 5 min.... Ho Hum

Why would one want to bridge out / remove teh thermostat.....

PS. I have to keep sucking it up as like many forums and DIY places... 240V is not considered dangerous ;D

Soy milk, chemicals in teh water or wrong cleaning materials is etc etc is a NO NO but 240 is fine

yes it is leaking power from the terminal across to the base plate on the element
Sorry; but terminology and conclusions as such screams "FFS Dont Touch it any More"

some pstats have 3 terminals and would allow the wires (or one wire) to be "moved"

where is it "leaking power" across the element to the base plate creating a circuit or how? indicating a stuffed element

if its gone from a  seized pump to a busted element and a non working volumetrics board as Motto said it might be time to invest in a  new one.... [/QUOTE]
you guys have been very helpful, from your comments and valuable input I will draw the line at the board so without going any further I will investigate the board and the autofill problem and yes it is leaking power from the terminal across to the base plate on the element and yes it does have 3 pressurestat terminals and one of them being spare
So I think Ill take another look at it tomorrow.

Dont know if you thought I was joking but I do have a klub sitting in pieces the only thing not working is the element. There are a few bits missing I have grabbed for other projects but all the main elements are there. PM if you are interested.

yep the other day i spent 30 mins trying to figure out why my beer brewing fridge would not work.

    you know
switch on / off , open door, switch on off..
    pull plug out put in....
drag fridge away from wall, look around scratch head...
switch on, switch off....... open door....
    get cranky and sad....
    walk away come back....

discover i am plugging in a extension cord attached to nothing.......

have you checked the water probe and wire running to it...... sometimes its the simple things
;D ;D   hmmm,  where I have heard that problem before.....

In my case, I put back the wire on the probe, but forgot the grounding wire which was left hidden, wrapped around behind the loom.

is the pstat "fried" or a carbon like build up?

like AM said your heading into needing a qualified person..... dont take risks on something "your doing a good deed on"

if its gone from a seized pump to a busted element and a non working volumetrics board as Motto said it might be time to invest in a new one....

I spose the info I was looking for was whether it was worth a new pressurestat and possibly elements, but if the board is shot then I have to draw a line somewhere.
thanks guys for your help. Ray. 8-)

Hi guys and gals, I was doing the good samaritan thing with the nice people across the road at food works, their club 2 group had a coronary so i offered to look at it, after initially seeing the pump was seized I ordered one from one of the site sponsors. The groups now pump ok but not on auto and the auto fill isnt working, i took the elements out of the boiler for a look, scale city, i havent cleaned and reassembled it yet but the pressurestat is looking like one of the contacts is slightly fried and there is a power leak across the terminals of the elements, can anybody please advise me with some technical support.

Ya into the area of Electronics and Electrical.. Forget it.... Pass it on to a Qualified person.

This level of TS and when involves a non qualified person is not safe no does it bode for a good outcome.

Having rebuilt one... I found a number of things I liked about the build and teh electronics..

Then again, there were some things I detested

As to teh pump being siezed ???

    I have it

and do you mean the volumetrics are not working ?

on the ones i had they had two little micro toggle switches up the right hand side near the groups. they effected something and the way it all worked

AM might be able to help as well if the control board needs work, he bought one off me and repaired it (machine)
