i see its a asbestos covered / lined boiler and it is flaking off in areas.

a low tech solution to stop it making excessive dust while you take it all apart is it wet it down a bit and then "paint" it in PVA glue (wood glue).
let the glue dry then repeat and then "paper mache" it by soaking stips of paper in glue and sticking it to the boiler and what you have already painted on. it cocoons the boiler while you remove it.

this will drastically reduce your risk to what is likely some of the worst style of asbestos.

then once you have the boiler out you can more safely remove the asbestos in a proper way.

            Be safe

thanks for the tips maheel. I found some stainless spring but they are 1cm shorter then the ones in this machine (mine are 14cm and the stainless ones are 13cm) could i shim the shorter spring to make up the difference???

also are those the same seals as in the astorias and brasillias???

i thought you will need to know (or best guess) the compression weights / strengths of the original springs before you could use alternate ones ?
