coming from someone who owns 3 single group commercial and semi commercial machines.... i would highly recommend going for something dual boiler (eg: expobar minore III). Youve got the price range to choose between dozens of offerings, why not get the best?

Thanks Chris; mine is the Premium Pluss so I figure it is my habbit of leaving the machine on for a couple of hours before I brew that lets it get a tad hot to begin with. A 20 second flush with an empty basket seems to bring it back in line again
I got my Giotto Premium Plus from Chris and just this morning it was on for 3 hours before I made my coffee and it did not require a cooling flush.
Well I dont think it did, the water in the group wasnt boiling.....
A friend has suggested the Expoibar MinoreIII (4)as have a few of you (thanks again)
He believes thats all Ill need,is there anything that Im missing out on with this machine?
But something keeps comming up in the back of my mind.
That is that I could get a used La Cimbala for much less.
Well apart from the physical size any one here see any negative reasons for grabbing one of these instead?
What bothers me is really the power consumption and is it true that they do not run of the normal 240volt plug?
I have an Expobar Leva.
I decided against the extra bells and whistles of the Minore and that has suited me well for the almost 5 years Ive had it.
In all that time its only had normal servicing i.e. keeps on going.
Your mention of physical size I take is a personal perception thing as I dont find it overly large.

I just rang Di Bartoli to see if I could confirm or deny this for you.
Renzo hasnt seen one in the flesh yet but thinks the design will not allow both elements to come on together, hence keeping the current draw under 16 amps.
He said it should heat up one boiler first then the other, during initial warm up, from then on it will only need to switch on one element or the other for a short period of time in order to maintain temperature.
You can always give him a call yourself to get the explanation in his words instead of mine.
Any other sponsors seen one, that can confirm 100%?
But it is the size of the LaCimabali that has me a little concerned being an ex commercial 2 group unit,I love the look but it may seem a bit OTT for home use only.

There are a number of us who have 2 groups as home units. They can be quite nice, if you have the space.
