Yeah, or there is a small blockage in the inlet hose or inside the pump, which is enough to stop it sucking properly out of a tank?

I am loving the rotary quietness/refinement of the Faema!!

Dont forget when you fit the rotary, you set that valve to drip at 12 bar and then the pump back to 9 bar.

    Cheers

yeah i dont know maybe the pump is a bit lazy ?

makes good coffee and pressure when on line pressure and you can adjust it using the OPV (red circle) goes up over 11 bar no problem and i set it back at 9 no drama.

i find the vibe a bit loud anyway so i might stick a rotary in it and see how it goes

works well after a little flush water temps are pretty good going of my PID / TC gauge

That seems strange, did the black hose feeding the pump have a head of water from the tank, or did it go up over the top of the tank before coming down? If the pump is not good at sucking, then that maybe an issue? Maybe try hooking up a tank and having the hose feed at the bottom of the tank so the water pressure assists the pump and see what happens.

The red thing circled looks the same as the one in my Faema, and its basically a valve that cracks open at a certain pressure and starts bleeding water through the bypass, and its set by winding the end piece in/out (check if it has a grub screw locking it in place). Its just a rubber disc with a spring behind it, and the screw adjust the preload of the spring. I guess in your case this would be set to give you the 9 bar brew pressure.

    Cheers

i will have a look artman. but see that black hose on the right coming "into" the pump thats water in and i have directly ran that hose to a tank" on top of the machine trying to gravity feed the pump.
it had no real success with a tank on it?

i could actually get water to come out the OPV in the pic from the tank but the tank would not pump it?
i even have a spare ULKA vibe pump, but the fitting are a bit different so could not test.

yours is a good idea, i will have a poke around again

they are very small bore hose and that might be an issue,

yeah the antivac just needs a oring, i think i even took it off and looked at it, then just screwed it back in. i have some other type antivacs in my parts box so will most likely have a play or see if i have a oring small enough

    thanks for the ideas

Does it have a pressure reducer installed prior to the pump? I think some machines get this installed when getting plumbed in, and you remove it for tanked use? I am pretty sure I read something to that effect on the forums here previously.

The anti vac valve should be an easy fix. It just screws into the boiler with a seal. Its either leaking at the seal which you can replace for a couple of bucks, or in the actual valve. On my machine is was a perished o-ring, only a few cents. A new valve is not that expensive as a unit if you want to replace the whole thing witout tinkering.

San Marino lisa jnr vibe pump model

I am cleaning up a old SM Lisa Jnr and its the plumb in vibe pump model.

seems to run ok, might be the standard SM bit hot but i have yet to play with the pstat i am just at the "does it work" stages

    issue:
I was hoping to run this from a tank but the pump does not seem to want to make good pressure...
gives me 9 bar at group head when on the mains but not when using a tank on top of the machine (gravity assist).

    questions:

    1. should the vibe on this one be fine hitting the 9 bar from a tank?

    2. the screw thing in the picture in the red circle is the brew pump pressure (return) adjuster right ?
when i turn it and the machine is plumbed in it effects the Ghead pressure. When i use a TANK it does not seem to effect pressure (screwed right in or out etc). I cant seem to get any real pressure form a tank.

what do you all reckon? pump getting old? not tank / bucket suitable?

ignore the green scale, looks like it a had a leaky little anitvac valve for a LONG..... time....

as always you help is appreciated

Working...
