    hi rangedog,

as seller i will say never buy gray machine, buy in here.

as a buyer i will import as a big gab of $$$ if any damage or service need still beter Value.

most of coffee machine is very simple to repair, pluming is easy, Plug also easy, pump pressure, i did my PID by my own and already over 2 years never have problem, was china PID than just replace with Watlow.

temperatur check just use digital temp. ( make sure calibrate/check with boiling water )

maybe i not as good other member but i just WON medal at The Golden Bean (comercial category).

    cheers....

    Hi,
can I ask where you ended up importing from? Which company did you buy from? We're all the charges and fees paid upfront or did you pay some of the fees once the machine arrived?
    thanks

with water at 98c/KL and me having saved $1600- on my evo purchase, well I have about 1.6million litres of water available to flush with before I chew out my $1600- saving....

Sorry Chris, I should have been more specific there...Im flushing that amount as recommended/described in the Home Barista article I mentioned.
Probably not particularly applicable to your machine though mate; the dynamics are slightly different and until you get the chance to have the machine setup with a Scace device (or do it yourself), you wont really know what the optimum user regime will be.

Its all a bit of fun though, nothing like setting up something from scratch and arriving at a point where it is almost singing and dancing to your tune. All the best with it mate... 8-)

    Mal.
    Thanks Mal, I appreciate that.

Thats a really big cooling flush Jack
I had to ask google how much it was 180-240 mls
And in no time at all, Jacks savings will be gobbled up in excess water rates.  ;D
Well, I hope I clarified the reason for the large cooling flush above, and its probably not needed...but while were having fun with my water bill, if we assume I did need a larger flush (which I probably dont, but anyway, lighthearted banter in the arvo is good sport so...)...with water at 98c/KL and me having saved $1600- on my evo purchase, well I have about 1.6million litres of water available to flush with before I chew out my $1600- saving....

    Hi Attillio,

Thats first up in the morning, so after a minimum warmup 30 mins, could be up to an hour(timing generally depends on how well behaved the kids are...)

The machine doesnt appear to be running hot at all, I do a cooling flush from idle of 6-8 oz which works well for me.
Thats a really big cooling flush Jack. I use just a rinse with our demo. As previously outlined, this is but one of the spec. differences.
Sorry Chris, I should have been more specific there...Im flushing that amount as recommended/described in the Home Barista article I mentioned. This Home Barista recommended technique had nothing to do with imports, it is just a general article in using hx machines. But I appreciate your advice.Ill try shorter flushes also, the machine certainly doesnt seem to need such a long flush and Im probably overdoing it.Im not that quick with the dose and tamp though so its working for me...

    Re: importing rocket giotto evoluzione

Just an update on the outcome here for those interested, and my final post on this.
I unboxed the evo, plugged it in, turned it on and started making coffee....all good, runs like a dream, boiler pressure 1-1.2 bar, pump pressure 9 bar....after a couple of days familiarisation(and buying some fresh single origin new guinea beans from Yahava Margaret River), the shots became quite spectacular.
The machine doesnt appear to be running hot at all, I do a cooling flush from idle of 6-8 oz which works well for me.
I based this flush around the Home-Barista thread "how I learnt to relax and love my HX".
Erics adapter(on the way) will give me more info here, but the shots are great to my taste so Im not expecting an issue.
The switch/wiring loom/sparky advice I do appreciate but Im just gunna leave it as is...it works...my house is full of "non compliant" gear , the evo is just one more.
I did manage to crack the brass bushing that joins the water inflow pipe to the elbow coupling underneath the machine, this apparently has been done before by others and there is advice out there on how to approach the instal, I was careful and followed instructions but damn...it happened still...
I had to wait 5 days for the replacement from Italy (they sent 2 at no charge.)
As an aside, the research I did on the Evo had it as a 1200w machine but mine is 1300w, so anyone looking at old reviews/comments etc may find that info useful.
Steaming is awesome, so farrrst, I love it.
    Over and out.
