I need advice
Ok, not sure if I am posting in correct area, I do not even know the value of my machine so sorry if not.
I was looking to buy a new/ real Espresso machine in Sept when I stumbled across this deal. I purchased a Brasilia Portofino Super/ DIG. It hadn’t been used in some time and the people who had it tried to use it but it wouldn’t build pressure. I took it home, checked it over and found the Load line L1 was broken. Figuring this was the problem I fixed it and turned the unit on. Things didn’t work, no motor, no water thru group 1 or 2, and it took 54 min to get boiler to 1 bar. It sounded like it was still running off just one 110 line but I had loaned out my multimeter so I had no way to tell. The programmable touch pad worked fine and after heating the wand and water spout worked fine too. When I got my meter back I found that L1 and ground had been switch so things that work off 110 got no power or 220. I corrected the wires and the machine kicked on. Boiler heater in a few min’s and I had to turn the pressure to the boiler down as it was way of out calibration (Almost 4 bars). Everything seems to work but there are a few problems. 1st the water gauge will show water being used and the light will go on when low but it takes forever to get back up and it doesn’t seem to fill more than half way. 2nd when you first turn the unit on the line motor kicks on and runs for aprox 90 sec’s then shuts off. At this time both touch pads stop button have a red LED and it starts flashing and stay on. You can still use it but they will not stop flashing till you turn the unit off. I also noted that the pump (not motor) is noisy and gets hot (I think it needs work or replacement). I paid $225 for the Espresso machine a bunch of accessories and a grinder, Gino Rossi Mod # RR45. If anyone can tell me anything, how to fix the problems (with details as I know nothing about this thing), if I got a good deal, I have not tried the grinder yet, but it’s rather large for anything I would need.
Thanks for any help
