Will investigate availability of drill bits when I get home. The smallest will probably be the 1.6 ml. Ill see how that compares with existing Grimac holes --probably should be alright.

And peace and harmony descends on marital relations once again

Sparky, I reckon if I try to seduce Mrs Robusto into espresso one more time the problem will be irrevocably solved --- Ill be a single man!! Its a touchy subject. I love them, she does not "and please dont aske me one more time end of story." Yes, dear...

    Mmmmmm....

    I can relate to that ;D ;D ;D

But a 1.4/1.5 mm drill down the line of the CoffeeParts holes.... (brass - so easily drilled)

And all is sweet (in the texturing department as well as the home front )

Dennis, I like your idea. Why didnt I think of that....disposable toothpick hole blockers. (Why oh why).

Um...on second thought... perhaps not. ---But only because we have to save the forests, though. :-/

By far the most rewarding result has come from temporarily blocking two of the Grimacs holes with toothpicks.....Either I drill out the replacement, or silver solder the old.

    --Robusto
Or buy more toothpicks and patent your design! Keep an eye out Robusto...youll soon have plenty to rib me about

Update on the new 2-hole steam wand tip.

The four large holes in the existing tip are very difficult to master for small volumes of milk, so I ordered a $14 two-hole tip.

I dont like it. At all.

Its got a milled or serrated face, rather than a smooth one. So extra attention has to be paid to ensuring all milk residue is cleaned off.

But the two holes are very very very tiny, about the diameter of a pin. This makes for slow foaming and I dont like the action they produce in any case.

By far the most rewarding result has come from temporarily blocking two of the Grimacs holes with toothpicks. The action, texturing and sound all roll into one good effect.

Either I drill out the replacement, or silver solder the old.

Welcome aboard Sparky. And thanks for the shift Mal. I was feeling a little lonesome here. Nice to have the company.

I think it is closer to the parallel of the various Masters Sport Circuits.... not really retired but rubbing shoulders with the rest of the worlds best :

    Mal.
    P.S.
Sparky, your Pav has been moved to its rightful place within the ranks of the extreme 8-).

Maybe the Pav is beyond extreme...

Funny thing is that this extreme category ($3k +) is filled with machines that were probably bought for under $1k....

So this would be more like the extreme machine retirement village.

Wow! I never knew that pulling a coffee was such an extreme sport. Guess Ill cancel that tandem parachute jump now.

I reckon a few more posts (machines) belong in this catagory. Hey Sparky, where are you?
