Theyre excellent machines though
I totally agree!
With the exception of the whole cleaning thing. It gets soo damn dusty. Combine that with the ocean air which im sure cant be good for it and i spend a lot of time cleaning it.
The only thing i can fault it on is the fact the drip tray is not easily removed for rinsing and cleaning. The top grill part comes straight off but the bottom stays put.
The heat issues arent bad at all if i continue to use all 3 groups consecutively or at least keep the right hand side group used often to keep the heat soak down.
As for the number of units in OZ... maybe it was the fourth into the country at the time my boss was given those numbers? Good to hear there are more though.
I think i was able to convince my boss to get an original Kees Van Western naked portafilter for it? Fingers crossed
someone wondered where-else these can be seen - a number of tobys or ex-tobys accounts have them, such as Workhouse Espresso (black labelling) @ TGV Sydney and Willy & Jos Depot in Bondi (now using Morgans).
So theres at least 5 in Sydney - I think your estimate of 4 may have been a little bit on the "I caught a big fish" side . Theyre excellent machines though
Isnt it funny how things all seem to go pear shaped at once?
I came into work on friday morning to find the Mirage in non working order. No power at all!
It took till mid day to have it fixed and while the fixit guy was there i had him have a look at the Mahkonig grinder as i had it wound all the way down to its finest setting and need more play room. It seems as thought the "locking" pins had not locked at all and the adjustment gears had seized them selfs shut!
Anyway..after a lenthy amout of blood sweat and cursing from the fixit guy i sent him packing along with the grinder to be returned ealy next week. So i pulled the old Mazzer out! back to manual dosing i was kind of enjoying the challenge of it all untill we got busy. Then it became apparent the reason why we upgraded in the first place.
Thats a classic...a Citroen able to go from 0 to 60mph in under 5 seconds! Unheard of! Until you hear it! Wow! Its hilarious when all you hear is that awesome sound of the Ferrari engine and then...a bread van overtakes you! ;D

The Ferrari crowd, if not already enraged enough from my posts, will be forming a lynch party by suggesting a Citroen could be in any way compared to a Ferrari
My mistake, the original link I had posted was incorrect. Corrected above, and here is the link it should have been: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/5882243/Citroen-2CV-crossed-with-Ferrari-to-create-180mph-hybrid.html
