I picked up a bunch of different tips from Dimattina a while back, Ive got a single hole, 2x 4 holes and 2x 2 holes.

I find the best one to be the 4 hole, but I still cant get as good a microfoam out of it as I did on my Silvia... very tricky to get the hang of!

what type of milk do you use? I know when I cant get the milk i normally use then it can be harder to achieve consistent results. also following kk milk stretching helped me. try not to stretch it for to long even ten seconds is often enough then concentrate on spinning the milk till hot enough.

Thats interesting and looks like it only affects a particular batch.

FWIW, The steam boiler is insulated on my Duetto and I dont have any issues described on the CoffeeGeek site

hey all has anyone run the water return from the vac valve(or whatever its from) to the drip tray as I dont want my water tank to go moldy as I have the Duetto plumbed in?

                Hi Jono,

I wouldnt worry. Only steam is released from the anti-vac valve on the heat up and the heat created by the machine should be ample to evaporate it

                Cheers

Im sure there are plenty of Giotto, Silvia et al owners whod have no problem at all with a deep drip tray :

Gruppo Izzo have toyed with idea of offering the Duetto with red or white knobs and accessories as they do with the Pompeii. I have a photo somewhere and will see if I can dig it up.
Do you know if it will be possible to use the knobs of the Pompeii or the Sorrento on the Duetto? Id like some red knobs.

                  And where to buy them?

Theyre too big- would partially cover the gauge and PID- if they fit at all. Izzo have confirmed no plans for alternate colours at present.

I thought Id bring this back up because since Ive pumbed mine in I dont remove the cup tray much but I did the other day and found a fair amount of the residue over the inside of the cup tray and one of the cups i hadnt usd in a while. I wiped it off ok but I will keep an eye on it.

Also the water level in my tank is slowly rising thus my question about the hoses being pointed into the drip tray wouldnt take much to do it if it is ok with Chris and the warranty?

                        Hi Jono,

I dont really mind. Do it if you want to.

You will need some 8mm silicon tube. No fiddling with anything else though

If it helps, I have the steam boiler tube rerouted to the drip tray. Theres no need to change the tube, at least in my machine.

I finally got around to running the steam return tube to the drip tray(I had about 500ml of water in the tank today thats why I did this mod others may not experience this).

It was very easy to do, the cutout in the drip tray is quite small and the two tubes together only just fit but I dont remove the tray very often so its not a problem.

Every time I look at the inside of this machine I am very impressed by the quality of the build it is just so neat and tidy.

Please check with your retailer before carrying out this mod as I would hate for them to knock back warranty on this.

Hi folks, well I recently picked up my shiny new coffee rig from Talk Coffee including an Izzo Alex Duetto Mk3, Macap M4D & Brita C150 Quell ST under-sink filter & tap. Also in my kit was a Bogav Assassin tamper & Rattleware Latte Art jug! Next on my shopping list is a naked PF & knock box from TC (see you soon Chris )

The next step was plumbing in my machine (not as easy as it seems!)...finding a plumber, that was easy. Finding a plumber who was suitably qualified (ie: with water filters etc), not rip off merchants, friendly and approachable & genuinely interested in the work...thats the hard part. After some frustration, I turned to Master Plumbers & found a local plumbing business in Melbourne - Hames Reid Plumbing who ticked all the boxes. They were patient, thorough & great to work with. They made sure I was 100% happy with the results before signing off, and best of all they did a great job!

But I wouldnt have got to this point without the fantastic advice and ongoing support ive received from Chris at Talk Coffee. Chris made sure the machine/grinder combination I chose met all my needs, enabling me to make the right choice of equipment. I was also grateful that Chris bench tested my machine, set the PID & also adjusted the grind settings on my M4D for his beans. Ps: Thanks Chris for the 2 bags of yummy coffee!  8-) If that wasnt enough, Chris also included an excellent in home Training Manual covering practical tips covering using your machine, coffee education & maintenance. It has been great dealing with Chris & I have no hesitation recommending him to any other CSers.

Here are a few shots of my set up. Im still reading up and watching the helpful video links Chris sent me, but will report back on my first few shots soon!

                                Cheers,
                                David.
