Thanks for the info Jonty. I tried your purging method this morning and it was a bit more convenient. Does anyone know the anatomy of water that will prevent the boiler from overfilling? (I realize I don't know if that's what's causing the issue outlined above, but I'm inferring that from Chris's response above).

Hi Pete
I found it similar with my duetto also, after 1hr warm up as you described. My water quality is around 330 TDS (so plenty of Na and K in my water) but the hardness (Mg\Ca) is reading zero. I always purge around 40-50ml hot water into each glass every morning (80-100ml in total). I then purge the wand and I would say it is perfect after good 5 to 10 sec purge.

Geez this water issue is a bit tricky but I'm almost there (the water in my part of Toowoomba turns out to be not-so-pretty TH and TDS wise).Originally posted by Pete39 View PostHi Chris,
Thanks for the quick response.
Have checked and F.02 is 5.
Thought it might be a water issue. Am working on filter options with Bombora at the moment, but am using bottled "spring water" in the mean time. According to the bottle Typical Analysis is (all in mg/L):
Chloride 22.0
Sodium 40.0
Magnesium 3.0
Calcium 24.0
Bicarbonate 30.0
Potassium 2.0

While I'm making final decisions and placing orders, does this bottled stuff sound ok? Could it be causing the steam issues? Thanks again.

A quick heads up to all CS'ers
Please keep your eyes peeled for any new or near new Alex Duetto which turns up for sale in the pub, on the bay or elsewhere. It has been "appropriated" from one of our dealers.
I'll publish the serial number of this stolen machine as soon as I receive it.
