  • Hi just wondering for those of you who have there machines plumbed in how you have hooked up your water lines into the machine?

I had a leak with mine where the braided hose joins to the water filter john guest fitting. I had a male to male joiner in line to connect the two hoses together. The plastic john guest fitting split but I think it was to tight.

I'm looking to find I solution that doesn't require the braided h ose to be used at all, the John guest elbows are too tall and don't fit under the machine without hitting the bench. Any suggested solutions would be appreciated. I have a Brita C150 water filter system I noticed that there is a new T available that looks like it connects to the braided line but my machine is to far away from the filter. Thanks

    • Hi all

Sure this has been talked about before but after an hour of doing searches I figure just re ask the question.

Haven't been totally happy with my coffees recently so have been problem solving, the one thing I came up with is the Izzo is running at 12 bar.

Pretty sure I need to adjust it back down to 9/10 bar? Do I just use the blind filter, start as if extracting and adjust accordingly?

      Many thanks

      Chester

That's how I do it, though if your machine was calibrated when new for tank mode then you need to adjust the pressure to match that. When adjusting you need to be aware that the gauges aren't always spot on. Mine needs to sit at 9.8 bar to be correct.

          Hi Chester,

Certainly wasn't on shipment. Perhaps there may be an underlying reason for this. It may be worth investigating.

          • Thanks J-W and Chris.

Chris, Was just talking about getting the machine serviced, but any ideas as to what could cause a rise in pressure. Machine has always been well looked after regarding cleaning cycles and de scale once a year. Has only ever made one or two coffees a day since new.

            Thanks Chester

I'll leave that question for the expert Chris. Sorry good luck

              • Hi Chester.

It's a tad tough to speculate... May just be cruddy pump bypass, perhaps something else.

It would be good to run a p/f pressure gauge or a Scace over it when it does have a service.

                Cheers

                Chris

                • I bough a 2nd hand model through the site late last year. It is the model that alarms when the tank is low.

I run it plumbed in so don't use the tank manually but it will still alarm. It the anything that I can do about it?

Also what are the dimensions of the group seals, are they 73x57x8mm?

                  • Later models have a switch to bypass the tank microswitch. You can install one or alternately, use the tank as a money box :P

                    Group seal- e61 8.5mm

                    • Can I get a microswitch from you?

                      And if so how much?

You already have one. What you need is a sparkie/technician to fit and wire a bypass switch. You could bypass the tank microswitch, but that's a boiler cook risk if you ever run it from the tank.

                          astro!
Maybe not a money box for the hard earned but if you just put some ( not much) non-corrosive weight in the tank........problem solved.

On the other hand it would be a way to save for an upgrade to an Alex Leva...... hmmmmm, Chris; you're giving me ideas!!

                          • Has anyone had any luck finding replacement steam tips that fit the Duetto 2 (or 3)? I want something with smaller holes than the standard tip, which i think are 1mm? Is that right? I'm thinking around 0.8?

I've tried the Giotto tips, but the thread pitch is different so they don't fit.

I know Chris has the Izzo 3-tip pack, but I was hoping to find something a little cheaper than that.

                            Any ideas?

                            Thanks

                              • Five senses has a 4 hole .9mm tip which I have on my Duetto 3 and it is by far the best out of the stock tips and the 3 tip pack. I have also pulled the Teflon tube out of the steam wand which dries it up a bit too. It's an 8mm thread. Hope that helps!
