Re: Izzo Alex Duetto II discussion thread

Just picked one of these up from Talk Coffee while I am down in Melbourne, cant wait to get back home to use it tomorrow night

Thanks to Chris for bench testing, adjusting the pressure for me and giving me a run-down of the machine.  I was aware the machine was pretty quiet but I was amazed at just how quiet this machine actually is in person.  It really can pull some very nice shots too.

The steam power is also going to take some getting the hang of but I am sure it will be much better than the EM6910 that I have been used to.

Re: Izzo Alex Duetto II discussion thread

After much deliberation, counting pennies and help from CS people I now have one of these on the way. Ordered through a NZ company so hopefully all will go well. While I would have way prefered to go through Chris from talk coffee in the end the NZ dollar and no extra freight one me over.
      Keep you all posted.

        Great outcome Chris.

I am much happier that you have a machine and local support over one of ours with a dodgy passport!  ;D

Congrats and hope you enjoy it. You are most welcome to contact me if I can assist in any way.

        Cheers

        Chris

Bit of a head to head here but it was really just compare builds. I simply transfered by Naked PF and basket and first shot was text book. Only made about 8 coffees so far but its quite a beast.
Thanks for the help Chris N and Topshot

Nice take on a 2 group machine Chris,

I guess thats a triple boiler PIDed commercial pressurestated HX rotary vibe pump one with twin tanks and inbuilt plumb facility.  8-) ;D

For mine, you have the best machine on the market under $7k. Congrats and enjoy!

One thing though: Is the lid covered? They do need to breathe.

Re: Izzo Alex Duetto II discussion thread

After nearly 2 years hanging around these forums planning an upgrade, Ive gone and done it - Chris at Talk Coffee helped me out with the purchase of an Alex Duetto II and Macap M4D over the weekend.

Its an amazing machine to look at on the bench, and then theres the coffee...!

I am under no illusion, I know it will be some time before I can get everything out of this beast, but even now I am drinking the best shots I have ever had at home, just days after picking it up!

Thanks to Chris for the advice and service, Andy for the fresh roasted beans (think Ill be seeing you more regularly now!), and also to everyone that contributes to this forum for the interesting and tasty journey so far!

Welcome Iadam. Enjoy Alex. I bought mine some months ago and love it, probably look after it better than I do my husband ;D.

                          Congrats and thank you Iadam,

Your photos are superb and the first I have seen which do the machine justice. They really are gorgeous in the metal. 8-)

I hope you enjoy the machine.

Not just that either, probably better than a lot, if not most, cafes too depending on where you are

I particularly like that first photo, its just fantastic.  Its a machine you cant help but look after - I spend as much time cleaning it up as I do making coffee most of the time :P

Thanks everyone - still trying to perfect some microfoam before photographing those results, if only I could capture the taste in a photo for now!
