Hi Chris,
I was wondering if you could help me out. I just purchased a Grimac machine and was wanting to know where the elements are and if it one or two element machine, and if both or one is currently connected. I switch the machine to number 1 and i have power but no steam. when i put the knob to number 2 it pressures up really quick and then all works fine. Would this relate to the elements? Thanks for your time. Here is a pic.
with any commercial equipment its hard to put a worth on one. 1k maybe in decent condition? just a guess
5lt boiler is really quite small... its not the 1 in 30 that will stuff you up, its the 4 grannies coming at once that all want a large earl grey that will have you standing there like a dummy for a minute or two doing nothing. Im sure youd get by with that machine if youre not overly busy... im just saying, think about the hot water situation
seriously the "worth" of used / second hand commercial esp machines particularly old ones is relative. With the grimac name on, it has to be atleast 11 years old. Its "worth" what you paid for it. It may be worth nothing to someone else, and twice as much to someone different. If it works fine thats great.
You will soon learn whatever limitations it may have once you start to use it, but according to the figures youve relayed to us, I cant see any problems. It will have a good recovery rate owing to the small size of the boiler and 2600 (or whatever it is) watt element. In essence its recovery should be as good as that of a machine with a larger boiler that has a "larger" element....its all relative. It may die quickly, but will come back quickly.....you will learn how to manage.
