I can see some scuff marks on the SS already
Metal polish is a coffee snobs best friend  :P
Concentrating on excellent coffee for now to worry about a scuff

The noise is amplified a little on the video, it really is quiet
She normally hears the vibe pump from the Galatea and knows coffee is on its way

              You are right
But when it does need to work I think I would be exhausted before the BZ40

                KK,

I read earlier in the thread that you wanted to address the non-swivel steam arm, have you ? Im in the process of rebuilding a BZ35 DE and wanted to change this feature also, in my research I came accross a "STRONG" Bezzera offered by Origional Espresso. The steam and water wands attracted me instantly, so did the valves.
Looking at all the Bezzera offerings I IMHO concluded these valves and wands are from the Guilia model, have you looked into this mod any further ? Any info would be helpful.

                Thanks,

                Leo

                  Hi Leo

The BZ40 does have a swivel arm
I was thinking that it would be better with a similar arm to the Galatea

As time went on I got used to the standard steam arm and havent thought much about it since

On my machine to to change the steam arm is a simple matter of swapping one with the other
Barazi will be able to help if you need any parts for your machine

                  Due to very abundant steam
I now run the temp/ boiler pressure to cycle off at max .9

                  KK

                    Gday Leo....

With my older BZ-35 (MiniBar), I opted for this genuine Bezzera Valve and Wand Complete from Coffeeparts, Part Number: 703361... http://www.coffeeparts.com/bezzera/b...e-parts-3.html

                    Works exceptionally well.... 8-)

                    Mal.

                      Re: Bezzera BZ40 owners

Mal, KK, Thank you for putting me back on straight and narrow. I was playing around with trying to improve on something that doesent really need to be. All the things I read on any Bezzera product is that if anything they are steam monsters, and really do I need that pretty stainless steel steam and water arm ? NO, not really, but that doesent mean I dont want it. Guess its just the gearhead in me, BIGGER, BETTER, FASTER, MORE. Anyway thanks for the replies, Ill get the machine up and running before I plan any mods. Got it at a good price of $250 US, and probably goning to have to invest about $200 US to rebuild it. Renzo from DiBartoli put me in contact with a Bezzera rep here in the states for the parts I need, the only thing that worries me is that the control module seems to have some damage from something burning up inside. If anyone knows of any sponsor that may repair these please forward their information.
                      Thanks again,

                      Leo

Good to know you have a contact in the US
As to repair on the control module it would be prudent to contact member Anger Management as he has revived a few

Even if he can point you in the right direction it would be worth you time

                          As per KKs comments...

There is a company in the US that does exchange Control units ;D

Found it while doing some research, but can not find teh link (I know I saved it... BUT WHERE ) at this point in time. Google found it but what teh key words were, I can not remember and it was not on the first page or two !!!

The thing I liked is that they offer an exchange process at what appeared to be very reasonable costs (postage was identified). Where they do not have an existing item on hand, then there was a Repair / Quote option that was available...

If I find it I will update you.

Other than that, the Sponsor on this site may be able to offer something... Only takes a PM

KK, Angermanagement, Thank you. AM, got the PM.

I intend to get the machine up and running then Ill decide if Im going to make any changes. I was playing with the idea of changing the valves and arms and wanted to see if anyone knew if the lever steam/water valves from the Guilia or other model BZ07/BZ10 would be a "bolt in" mod (no adaptors) but, Ill cross that bridge when I come to it. Ive been reading a lot of the posts on the Bezzeras and came across one on pre-infusion that you posted, If you didnt do anything and are still considering this there are postings on HomeBaristia & CoffeeGeek by an author "ethorson" on preinfusion on a BZ35. On the CoffeeGeek forum it is under the Bezzera owners thread, with a link to the HomeBaristia post. If you are still considering pre-infusion this is worth a read.

                            Thanks again,

I did not proceed with pre infusion or a PID

It takes a little time living with your machine to sort out a routine

I do have pre infusion in a sense because I programmed one volumetric button to release 20 mls and stop then I use the manual button to make coffee

However I rarely use it as I have my routine just right that it makes little difference from normal brewing

I will have a read of that thread you mentioned

I will ask sponsor Barazi for you, as to what options you have in steam arms and post the results/answers up for you

                              Regards

                                KK, I am curious...
of you preinfuse with the single shot button of 20 mls, doesnt the machine then release all the pressure after it has poured 20 mls, before you pull the rest of your shot?
