Nice toy AM   Not so sure I like Carbon on coffee machines looks to much like a sports car so it might suffer from fast pours
Only when it is PEBFAG ;D

Congratulations AM, I rather fancy the DC Mini, It packs a lot into a compact form factor.
HB put one through its paces here for those who havent seen it.

Yep, like all systems there are some pros and cons.. What one likes, another dislikes..

WSully dropped in and man does he look smart in a suit :-* :-* :-*

Option of under rested Monsoon Mallabar or some beans that came with teh unit... We chose teh stuff that came with the unit... A port wine aroma was very predominate. 4th shot on the system... Not bad ... Not great... The milk may have killed it... PEBFAG

The unit is small, suits teh kitchen to a point and was really the only option for me after the great service Miss BCF has provided over the time I have had her..

I guess teh next step after a new grinder; is a new Kitchen or a double leaver unit for out on the deck

All comes down to availability / $$$ and SIZE... Has to fit in with the space I have now... And of course = or better that what I currently have.

Now that would be worth a drive up the coast to see....unfortunately you may have to sleep next to it AM lol

Very nice machine AM! i still love mine and will only get rid of it if i ever get my Speedster :-?

Let me know if you get yourself a Vario grinder and ill give you some base settings to start with.

I would also be interested in the brew boiler isolation switch if you find them?

By now im sure your aware it takes some getting used to...especially after using 58mm baskets fo so long...youll find it really easy paired with a Vario though.

                Keep us posted...

                  As always.. An interested party

Will take ya up on the grinder settings and ya nakid.. Once ya dont need it any more Come on Speedster ;D

A quick inspection today; makes me think it is a very simple mod... However; with out an electronic diag.. Can not be 100% sure.

                  Two options...

1: A second switch that just interrupts the signal to the controller (ie. temp has been reached thus power off) or that interrupts the cct to the elements..

Both options have some minor issues... That may not be obvious without the cct diag...

2: Change the switch for a double throw type... and still perform one of the above options..

However there are extra wires running to spare contacts at the controller etc and it makes me think that the wiring is a basic standard and thus the same as in the super mini... Which has a second switch... I just need teh wiring diag to confirm OR some one who has a DC Super Mini.

Now I could just pull it all down and draw it out.. But hey.... I want to use it and coffee in the cup comes first 8-)

Ya well they way its built; it needs double strength nappies and 4 storks in total to get it to ya ;D

Thus good things come to those who wait

AlexT just dropped in and was not impressed    I guess it was the 3 lots of shots and unknown beans and me still only learning and not getting use to the dosing levels and grind settings..  :-[ :-[ :-[
However.. The morning was a fun 2 x CSer met and greet, with some work being done.  He left with his now working Faema and it loaded into the back of his FILs car.. Hot water and coffee dust every where  ;D

The rest of you Brisbane CSérs are just not social      ;D ;D    8-)   :-*

Hold on a moment, lets put some context around that. All three shots were reasonable but none were amazing. Im definitely looking forward to see what the DCM puts in the cup when youve set a baseline for grind/dose/tamp etc.

I think Im still trying to understand the value in the extra three inches, although your wife may feel differently about it to me.
