So what is next on the upgrade list AM?

I hope the DC has served you well.

This is the first time in a while i have visited CS and just happened apon you sale.... good luck with it

To anyone interested in AMs DC.....

These are great little machines. I own one personally and it gets a good workout on a daily basis and has never faulted. Worth every penny
Worked well and most who saw it actually liked the look as it does fit into many different kitchen spaces and has that almost modern look.

Besides it wins hands down over the most often installed superautos on both looks and performance 8-)

As to where does it sit... Well it would appear that one or two in Australia have a different view, to many other globally respected reviewers and the stats from around the world. It is interesting that some stock the product, others do not.

As to where does it sit alongside a LM GS3 - I can not say; but I can afford a DCM not a LM GS3 and 99.68534% would not know from the cup.

But Bella Barista did do up an interesting chart on page 17 of their review on the DCM.  Then again it is not done by any one of any standing or understanding of equipment or the bean

CD As to the upgrade... Sorry to be disappointing, but due to employment etc I have taken a step back and was lucky an obtained a cheep Minor III which I am attempting to master and beat into submission  8-)

    Flower pots be aware  ;D

Not sure if this is correct but, I have been led to believe that the Dela Corta is compared to the LM GS3

    KK
;D ;D Aww guys...please...cmon, stop it! My stomach hurts...

You should rightly compare it to a LM strada or a Slayer.

Next, the Daewoo which compares to a Merc.... :-?

Re: For Sale: Dela Corta Mini

    That sounds about right KK.

It often gets compared to the GS3 and the La Spaz.

I think the reason people bypass the DC and go for these is the look and the name. The overall build quality is around the same but some people just dont like the look of the DC.

    I love the look

Care to share ?  Did you take out the main power run to the boiler or to the low current ac signal to the pressure stat relay ?

Have ordered about 3 different sets of switches and the switch backing plate as per teh Super... Needs to look official 8-)

There is some info on the PRO at www.dallacorte-pro.com.

The switch turns the steamboiler on/off.
No new temp scale - I just changed the knob to a more pretty one.

I use both tampers, and they are both able, but I dont have a preference towards one..

I have some technical documents, but I dont know if they are confidentiel. I will have to check with my DC-rep, before i share them.

That Speedster looks like fun! Luckily I have a very small kitchen, so no room for a fancy mashine like that, hehe..

    Thanks for the welcome!

Id love to hear more about the DCM opgrades. The new Pro looks very impressive.

I use Torr and Pullman tampers as you can see in the pics below..
Any time... Not many of us out there..

Is that the new Pro DCM ?   Tell me more

1: Looks like a double switch (boiler / steam)

2: Different temp scale (Thank gawd for no lcd display)

    and

    3: Plumbed in ?  (option)

How do you find the Tamps in the baskets..  The standard DCM baskets that I have = appear to have an interesting taper.  Thus always concerned as to obtaining another tamper...

Your over there and have a Pullman.. Thats great.

Double and a naked is great.. Verry little channelling... With the triple basket.. Never any channeling... EVen when I try to get

Do you have the parts and or technical breakdown / schematics of your unit ?

PS. Would love to see a dual display gauge.. Boiler and Group pressure..

    PPS...

A: Great Jugs  (enough you lot)
    B: Interesting grinder/s  (madly chasing a Vairo
    C: Clean bench  ;D

    Little bit like this CSér..

    Interesting mods..

My wife hates the powerful steam...

I would like the Ditting or this one http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1274427912/4#4

SO what part of the world are you located ? Opps....

    Denmark

Welcome to CS...  While a Global membership; most here are from Australia and some of us are a bit passionate about our coffee and our machines..

Always great to have others involved and even more if we can share our experiences with the same machine.

DCM membership is about 3 now ... With you  ;D

PS. Unless you have spent time in Australia... Be warned... Some of us here have a whacked sense of HUMOUR and what is written can be perceived very differently to how it was intended.

PS. Bit the bullet and ordered in some special DPDT on-off-0n partial illuminated switches and will mod mine as soon as I get then in..

PPS. Keep ya ear to the ground as I hear significant changes in place for the next DCM model..

PPS. What tamper do you use ?

Cool stuff - the Mini is a fun machine to use and easy to work on, so Im sure it will turn out great in any event.

I have also replaced the pump with a rotary in order to get line-level pre-infusion and permanent water-hookup.
    To accommodate this I added a 0.5mm flowjet, which results in a 70mL/10s water-debit and a nice pressure-ramp when not pre-infusing.

I like using a steamtip with 4x0.9mm holes. This works really well with the 1.5l steam-boiler.

My Mini is matched with a Ditting KE-640 grinder, but Im afraid I dont have any pictures of my setup..
I could maybe take some low-tech pics with my phone, I guess.
Havent tried it before, so please be patient with me..!

    Hello,

Regarding your mod I would advise not to have the off-position on the center of the switch as this will force you to disconnect  the mains-power when switching the steam-boiler on or off..

The best way of implementing the mod imo, is to add a second 2-pole switch, that simply disconnects the AC-supply for the steam-boiler heating element.
This is also the way it is done on the Super-Mini.

The way I see it, the three-position switch is only better if you find it to be a major aesthetic improvement or if you dont want to modify the casing to fit another switch.

Good luck with the project - I have a Mini myself and really enjoy being able to turn the steam-boiler off..

    Lars
Thanks... The intent was to make the call when going to make, the said coffee. Not to switch between ;D

But your comments are noted and I am still looking at the best way froward, but on the standard mini Vs the Super... Space on the front panel and looks is a factor on the mini.

Pics of your would be great to see... What grinder is matched with it ?

PS. I would not be switching the element directly any way..

Regardless of either config.. If one was to then ya breaking a heavy current flow when under load and that is not ideal.. I intend to break the low current 240V signal to the steam element controller..

Much safer and much cleaner with less stress on the electronics.

The biggest issue has been in getting a true DPDT with self illumination and that the are two colours...

Plenty around for some but not at 240V
