6: E61 heads in progress... Must get some parts from coffeeparts and re stock some of what I have used.
They look like commercial heads not E61 AM
But hey they both do a good job

When do you actually go to work when you are always tinkering ;D

      Hey AM

i was looking at where you welded it in the pic, but it seemed to be leaking just near from where the bolts for the element are.

just wondering what you found in that area near the bolts?

good to hear you saved the pump and things are going well

did the front panel just need a "new switch" (little thing, i dont know what they are called ) or did it need more magic ?

I am working... I can multi task.. ;D

Have some paperwork to do and when no PMIs... Just wait and respond to emergency on site requirements.. So can be quite for a few days / weeks and then sh1t hits teh fan..

Thus so long as it is little stuff that I can drop and run... Its OK. Otherwise I would go even madder. 8-)

1: The Seal was A bit perished and the 4 bolts were only firm at best.. But no overt sigbn of leakage at any of the bolt holes  :-?

Better safe than sorry...  Now has a true double stitched neck.  Just need a bolt through the neck and we would be re naming the beast

2: Pump is soooo smooth..  But took some time to get that bearing and the inner seals. None of the suppliers / service agents for these will release parts..  :P

3: Panel needed two new momentary switches and an IC...  However until she is fully up and running this is only conjecture.  But the static test suggests it will be OK.

Had to break out the oxy this afternoon to repair a couple of thermocouples that I had lent and that got crushed...  Re terminated and re beaded.. As good as new and one is even closer to being correct than before.

So while I was at it... I silver soldered some of the loose SS rods in the drip tray and replaced the missing ones as well.  Was good to crack a flame again..

Daughter was watching ... So when finished, I just turned off  the acetylene valve first  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ya... I knew what was going to happen... But it did not stop me from Jumping a bit ;D

Need to get back into this.. The first few welds were rough.. By the end it was OK.

              But only a drip tray.

Now once I get this baby all working...

Do I keep it or sell it ?

I think I might sell it.... Comments welcome.

                Re: KLUB T2 2 grp machine - Rebuild ???

Well was mucking around and fitted teh procon pump.. Was not 100% happy... But fingers crossed.

Got to fill the tank and yep... leaking ...... Inner spring loaded seal has also perished... This is truly a non serviceable part.. But I now have a shaft and vanes for repairs to others if needed.

Bugger... Now to get a new pump or a working used one from some where...

Note: This machine can be set up to run with out the pump for filling etc.. But still need a pump to pull shots...

If any one has a spare or used clamp type procon I would be interested to hear from you.

Like many things the costs of parts being used is adding up...

My opinion is that you should:

keep long enough to do some snob blind testing against your Sunbeam 69AMB and your Fancy machine.

start up a weekend market stall with it

keep it as a back up back up spare

                  Alex

Will wait until its working New procon pump installed and started to get pressure and then a leak..

Bugger.. Two of the brass domes ends have come away from the copper pipe work... I had cleaned up but thought the stains were from leaks due to slack nuts.

Took the pipe work off and one tip just collapsed into bits.

Now do I have 8mm ones of these just hanging around.. NOoooooo

Oh well, change a fitting and get the flaring tool and and presto..

                    UuuOOOoooo Aharrrrrr

Never saw that before... The EM6900 has a hot spot on the control board... Interesting getting hot and on a compare the resister is a bit higher... Wonder what teh other one looks like. One is good, other has been REALLY hot. Wonder if its just a resistor / dry joint issue that has caused control board problems / failure..

Now where was I... Oh the KlIIB..

Na... Saturday or Sunday.. I need some BF1942 gaming time for a change... 8-)

YES... And not all magic is cheep

Procon pumps are a bit $$$$   but also found that there was a broken piece of plastic in the front panel that activates the brew switches... But after lots or heavy use they break.. Hot glue gun and some special silastic and not only is the broken one repaired; but the others have been re-enforced..

The KLIIB is running....  PS. Two elements in series is great to drop the current draw... But do not hold ya breath for warm up time. So went to a single and it made a difference but that boiler still takes some time.....

Now to finish the heads - More parts arrived Friday so a quite Sunday job.

Then to put all the covers - get some more SS screws to replace a few missing / odd ones and new clips and a hot water handle.... A cut  and polish with some spit and elbow grease and she will / should look OK...

Then a tune up and off to market we go.. ???

Had to buy a new fan late today, in addition to the procom pump and a few extra bits..

                      So the budget is blown...

But all the costs to date come to around $800 plus a bit - including purchase price... Not game to actually look at it all.

Thus as stated previously 25% of  any dollars  over and above costs - will be donated to first crack.

A:  Offer here on CS first ???

                      OR

                      B:  That other place ????

To be honest... I need to recover costs... But would also like to put something significant back to first crack.

Besides, whilst not a top line trendy model..  I have actually come to start to understand and like the way it works.. Further more... It should provide a good few years more of service with just the basic maintenance...

PS. Pics should follow in about 10 days...  Have a few days off on Morton Island for some much needed time to reflect and say a few goodbyes.

Ran her up today and goes like a trooper..

Shots at about 0.9 - Steam from both spouts, manual overrides working and all buttons... They just need to be programmed as required.

Boiler running at 1.2 low and 1.3 high... Will need to check out temps but looks and feels right...

In the process of putting the panels back on and polishing the SS.

                            CAN some one tell me:

WHY IS IT THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO USE A SCOURER TO TRY TO CLEAN SS......

Yes this unit has been in a shop and shows signs of use and abuse... But there are a couple of spots where it is plain as day that some one has used a scourer

But other than replacing parts; it has been all cosmetic and just a bit of cleaning... And elbow grease ;D

Will post a couple of pics soon.. A half finished and a finished sparkle unit ;D

Note: Just got to decide... Leave as 15A or mod to be powered from two 10A GPOs OR do I offer this at time of sale ?

GTG... Have some urgent decommission to do on a couple of people..

Good on ya for getting the old girl goin, i personally would leave the power as is, and if you sell it, then give the buyer the option, bigger target market 10A and 15A buyers
