now I may be new to this forum and have a total of 3 posts but I have as much right to have an opinion about anything I choose to. If it gets published by the moderators well we'll see.

After reading this I would not purchase a machine from a sponsor in this thread as I would be thinking to myself am I going to get treated like an idiot because I don't have 20 years pulling coffee??

We are here to be educated by you guys not belittled.

while I agree with the sponsors as a businessmen protecting your business the entire Australian economy is under pressure to adapt and change to an ever present unpredictable market.

    rant over.

Great way to introduce yourself to the site Magyar. I trust that, before letting fly, you read other threads that were active at the time comments were posted, to get some historical context?

    • I think the point was that not everyone will read the context (not that it is necessarily relevant), so they could be harming their business. Fair point really. I have no problem with someone expressing their opinion, even if new to the forum; if it's well put.

      • No problem with the gist of Magyar is saying re the tone of posts (made by sponsors, non-sponsors, anyone)....what rubs me the wrong way is someone with 3-4 posts using terms like ' but let's just make it plain as day we the members make the site.'

        • Fair call Barry, the point was regarding the tone and as I expressed I sympathise as a businessmen with the sponsors. I still stick to my point regarding members if I have 4 posts or 700 doesn't matter I don't change as a person the more post I have. I have been a guest on this site for years Barry and have recently joined after I started roasting my own bean so I could ask some questions and seek some guidance. Yes it might not have been the best choice to introduce myself re the above post but as a businessmen and in a friendly choice of tone I was merely voicing my opinion regarding the context of this thread. Next time I will seek your advice before having an opinion

                      • I supposed this has been done not only for home use, but also commercially.
I recently visited a nationally famous roaster in Brisbane (NOT a site Sponsor) and they've recently imported an entire container of Mazzer Robur grinders. Their warehouse is now full of grinders.. However, I know they don't supply to that many cafes, so I assume those grinders will eventually goes to home baristas.
I'm not sure who the importer for Mazzer grinders are (service sphere?), but I'm sure they are not going to be happy about it.

                        • Authorised dealers are rarely happy about grey imports.

Wise consumers who don't need the services ADs offer are usually pretty ecstatic.

                            • how do we pay the GST and Custom fee?
coz what I understand is we have to pay by credit at ebay website.
does it mean Custom would send me the bill and I have to pay for it before I get the stock?
could you please say more abt it?
                              Thanks

                              • I don't know how eBay's new system works; if you don't pay it through ebay Customs will hold your goods and send you a letter telling you to cough up. You pay up and they send it on.
