@Clint- Its interesting to note that the machine is finally shipping with a better looking drip tray. Mines pretty rough...
yeh the drip tray does look and fit very well. the locking pins on the bottom make it fit very well. The corner metal work is very well done. I was a little disappointed to find that the tray was actually plastic with a stainless front. No problem really but in 10+ years time if someone is trying to restore it... I only say this as I picked up an old Grimac that was traded and it had plastic drip tray and cover. Luckily we had a guy at work who could make me stainless replacements.

Also there is a big scratch in the middle of the trip tray front. It had gone through the protective film and I only noticed it once I pulled it off. So we will see what the distributor warranty is like

But it is a great machine, I like looking at it and using it. The other plus is that my wife actually feels confident using the Kony and this machine whereas she wouldnt use the Minore. So it saves me money on the takeaways she would be from the cafes in the local village. Although she still thinks the Kony E makes too much mess, not as bad as the Mini though.

yours looks pure coffee porn  :-* next to that red grinder,
timer option must be such a great thing to have more should come with the ability to do it.

IMO they just tick so many in such a nice looking package

Importers cover the cost of parts, but not associated labour nor return shipping costs.
Thanks for the informative post it educates us to some of the inner workings of importer -> re-seller relationships and business issues.

I am sure labour (re: repairs) can make up a very significant part of your business in coffee machines.

Being a bean counter makes me want to ask......

When i worked for Toyota they  paid a set amount of time for each job. eg do clutch in 100 series = 5 hours + parts. Slow mechanic (or more thorough) cost a dealer $$$.

    Re: GS3 has arrived

Dimattina in Perth is where I bought mine, they sell and service LMs.  They are around the corner from my work, and Im there every morning at 10am buying a coffee.

Warm up time is surprisingly quick.  The brew boiler is at temperature probably within 10mins.  I was actually surprised at the speed of the warm up on it.  Much quicker than my Minore.  It does take a bit longer for the group to heat up as there is a lot of brass sticking out.  But you can flush it to bring it up to temp quicker.

However, it has some cool features such as a daily on/off timer, so I just set it to turn itself on before I get up.  You can also set it to run at half power consumption which will extend your warm up times etc.

    They are useless.

    Well, maybe not entirely.

If youre lucky they may have the number of another customer who has purchased the same model LM as yourself, and suggest you call that person for assistance.

    Thats how they helped me.
+1 for me....It took me almost two months to extract a group seal and gasket out of them. This was of course after theyd sent a final notice on the invoice they very efficiently sent to me. Clearly accounts is far more efficient than their spares department. :

Ultimately, I gave up and got the bits from Craig at 9Bar.

I really cant understand why LM have persisted with Allpress as the anecdotal reports I have plus my experiences suggest that all they have managed to do is damage the brand. They are gouging on price as well. The retail margin on their $7k machine would have any reseller in trouble with a single warranty claim.

Its the reason we had to drop LM from range. No importer support ultimately equals unhappy clients.

Allpress are the first point of call for GS3 problems as they are the importers. My GS3 had a blocked glicuer and Allpress had Coffee Macjine Technologies repair it. They are based in Melbourne as am I.

The GS3 can be services by anyone familiar with La Marzoccos.

Warm up time is about 15 mins - but longer is better. Mine is set to turn on every morning at 6.00 and i start making coffees at 6.30.

    cheers paul

Congrats on the GS3!  I have only two questions... no doubt i would love to get one myself but have often wondered:

Who services GS3 - does anyone know how to fix them? Are parts readily available?

And also, how long does it take to warm up (not that thats an issue with the timer built in!)?

    Thanks! Im jealous
The big "V" will be able to service one up your way Rival. I think 9Bar might be doing something up there as well...

    Congrats Clint.

Curious to know who you purchased from?

I am in a similar boat to you, looking to upgrade to a GS3 from a Minore III.
